Ever since the legal battle between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp started in court on April 11, 2022, fans worldwide have been rooting for Johnny. Different video clips from the courtroom have been circulating on different social media platforms. People are sharing and resharing their favorite moments from the court proceedings.
The hashtag #TeamJohnnyDepp has nearly eighty million views on Tiktok. People are making memes and showing their support in favor of Depp; some criticize him. However, the number of people supporting him is far greater than his critics.
Just recently, Courtney Love opened up in a series of videos posted by her friend Jessica Reed Kraus on her Instagram account and showed her support for Johnny Depp. Courtney shared that she is doing so because she has not forgotten the great favor that Depp did to her a long time ago.
Love claimed that Johnny Depp saved her life and helped her child.
“I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly. I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside The Viper Room,”
Love said, discussing the iconic club that was located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, Calif and was partially owned by Johnny Depp in the ‘90s.
She added that Johnny also supported her daughter Frances Bean Cobain while she was going through a horrible phase of addiction.
“Johnny didn’t even know me at the time… and my daughter, Frances was suffering from addiction and having problems with social workers. He sent limos to her school where all the social workers were crawling around, again, unasked, for her and all her friends, he arranged seats at one of his movie premieres. My daughter told me that her seat had her name on it.”
She added that she had never seen any of the ‘Pirates’ movies, but her daughter Frances did, and she, in fact, loved them all. “You know, she said to me when she was 13, ‘Mama, he saved my life.’ And she said it again.”
The singer also defended Johnny against Amber in the defamation trial. She added that she has sympathies for Amber Heard as she had also faced public hatred in the past and was even known as “the most hated woman in America” at one point in her life.
“I’ve been the most hated woman in the world before TikTok and it’s a really… I have a lot of empathy for what that must feel like for Amber. F*** man, wow, can you imagine being her?” Love said.
Courtney said that if someone is using a movement for their own personal gains and inhabiting queer feminist intersectional spaces, and they misuse that movement, then she hopes for justice.
“I hope justice gets served whatever it is” she added.
Apart from Courtney Love, some other celebrities like Sia and Eva Mendes have also shown their support for the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
