It seems like Captain Jack Sparrow is back in the game – in full swing!
After battling his ex-wife Amber Heard in a bitter court battle for six weeks in Virginia, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has finally moved on to opening new chapters in life.
It was reported that Johnny has been dating his attorney Joelle Rich who represented him in his UK lawsuit against The Sun.
According to Daily Mail, “Rich is a wealthy London-based lawyer who is also who is a partner in the international law firm Schillings whose clients include Prince Harry and wife Meghan.”
“The mother-of-two is said to be separated from her financier husband Jonathan Rich, and the couple is thought to be getting divorced.”
According to Us Weekly, Depp and Rich have amazing chemistry, and things are getting serious between the new couple.
“Their chemistry is off the charts,” an insider revealed to the outlet “It’s serious between them. They are the real deal.”
“Rich was one of the lawyers who worked on Depp’s case against the UK newspaper after he sued the outlet for libel in 2018, but she was not part of the legal team who represented him in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard earlier this year. She was, however, present in the Virginia courtroom to show her ‘support’ for the Oscar nominee.”
“There was no professional obligation for her being there. It was personal,” wrote Us Weekly.
A recent report from Daily Mail discussed the new and ‘odd’ couple’s chemistry and how they got along.
“During his marathon seven-week libel trial in Fairfax, Virginia, this spring, Johnny Depp was a creature of habit. He would arrive every morning in a large grey SUV with loud reggae music pumping and exit waving to fans while carrying a notebook and briefcase.”
“In his wake would follow three bodyguards who had been in the car with him — plus a petite and elegant brunette, Joelle Rich.”
“Rich, a 37-year-old married, privately educated London lawyer and mother of two, stayed a few careful paces away from the client at all times.”
According to the news outlet, the couple remained close throughout the Virginia court battle. Even though she maintained her distance from Depp and his legal team inside the court – the two hung out a lot in the evenings and at night and often had dinners together.
“Rich would be among those joining him for nightly dinners at the nearby Palm steakhouse. The Depp party would spend thousands every night on meals that featured chicken parmigiana and plenty of the best red wine that could be ordered (Depp is a red wine enthusiast).” Per Daily Mail.
Some friends of the British attorney revealed to the outlet that it was only a year ago when she moved houses with her financier husband, Jonathan Rich, whom she married in 2011.
The duo moved into a £1million-plus detached house in North London in 2021. However, in June 2022, Joelle fled to the US without informing anyone and was later spotted having dinner parties with the Beetlejuice actor.
One of Joelle’s neighbors said to the publication, “I have seen the husband coming and going recently but not her. Perhaps she is busy at work or on holiday?”
“She is lovely, super-clever, beautiful, nice, and really sensible — which is why everyone is so shocked by the latest claims,” said a friend of the attorney.
“Her and Johnny Depp are poles apart in everything in terms of age and background. She is married to a very successful, handsome husband and has two great kids. So it is quite a shock. It’s an extraordinary move for someone like Joelle — a highly accomplished, sensible, North London lawyer — to do something like this.”
