Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Calls Amber Heard a “Troubled Person Desperate for Attention”

Depp and Heard’s lawyers went after the celebrities’ closing statements in the highly-publicized defamation trial, which is about to go to a jury!

The attorney for Depp, Camille Vasquez, accused Amber of allegedly abu$ing his client on Friday.

“There is an abu$er in this courtroom but it’s not Mr. Depp. There’s a victim of abu$e in this court but it’s not Miss Heard. Miss Heard is in fact the abu$er and Mr. Depp is the abu$ed.”

In her closing arguments, she acknowledged the unusual timing:

“On May 27th 2016 Miss Heard walked into a courthouse in Los Angeles, California to get a no notice ex parte restraining order against Mr. Depp and in doing so ruined his life by falsely telling the world she was a survivor of domestic violence against Mr. Depp.

Today on May 27 2022, exactly six years later, we asked you to give Mr. Depp his life back by telling the world that Mr. Depp is not the abu$er Miss Heard said he is and hold Miss Heard accountable for her lies.”

Referencing Amber’s supposed lies, the lawyer discussed “a false report of dome$tic-violence” that Amber filed six years ago, saying:

“Six years ago today Miss Heard filed a false report of domestic violence against her husband of 15 months, Johnny Depp. It was a set up, she tipped off the paparazzi so they would be waiting. They knew where she would pause [and show off her brui$e].”

She used these photos to tell her story:

“The photos capture what they wanted her to see – the image of a battered woman. The dark mark on her face appeared six days after seeing Mr. Depp. It was a lie, she knew it, Mr. Depp knew it and multiple witnesses who saw her that week knew it. The world only saw what she wanted them to see.”

The court was shown the cover of People Magazine from that time, as she explained:

“Two years later when promoting the biggest role of her career – until this trial – Miss Heard presented herself as a public figure representing dome$tic-violence.”

Additionally, she reminded listeners that Heard appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden in 2015 after claiming Depp had headbutted her, leaving her with two black eyes, a broken nose, and a chunk of hair missing. Using photos of her talk-show appearance the day after the incident, they attempted to demonstrate that she was making it up.

According to her, experts diagnosed the actress with Borderline Personality Disorder. Camille described her as a “deeply troubled person” who is “desperate for attention and approval.” Camille further reminded jurors that Heard’s accusations are “far over the top and implausible, and it is impossible to believe or ignore one or the other.“You believe all of it, or none of it,” elaborating:

“Either she’s a victim of truly horrific abu$e or a woman who is willing to say absolutely anything. It is disturbing to think Miss Heard would make up the horrific tales of abu$e she testified to in this courtroom.”

In response to the notion that this was all a show, she sneered:

“We told you this would be a performance, the role of a lifetime as a heroic survivor of brutal abu$e.”

“Miss Heard went all in. She spun a story of shocking, overwhelming, brutal abu$e. She came into this courtroom prepared to give the performance of her life and she gave it. Miss Heard’s acting coach said Miss Heard has difficulty crying when she’s acting. You saw it, sobbing without tears while spinning elaborate, fantastic accounts of abu$e. It was a performance. She told you what she thinks you need to hear to convict this man as a domestic abu$er and a rapist. She wants you to believe she was abu$ed countless times over the entire course of their relationship. The evidence does not bear that out.”

Geez! That is an impressive argument. She worked hard to not minimize the stories of female victims of domestic violence, but she insisted:

“[Abu$e is a reality for] far too many women but the overwhelming evidence and weight of that evidence shows it’s not her story, it’s not Miss Heard’s story.”

The Rum Diary alum was slammed for this alleged act of “devastating cruelty” against not only Mr. Depp but also those who have experienced domestic violence:

“It was false, it was defamatory and it caused irreparable harm.”

In this case, whose story is it? The Pirates of the Caribbean alums, she believes. Her client, she said:

“What’s at stake is this man’s good name, what’s at stake is a man’s life that he lost when he was accused of heinous crimes and the life he could live when he’s finally vindicated.”

Camille claimed in her closing argument that Amber’s real intention with all of this was to “ruin” Johnny. Additionally, she noted that Heard has told “lies upon lies” throughout the case – such as lying about giving all of her $7 million divorce settlement to the ACLU and Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.

“When you catch Miss Heard in a lie she covers it up with more lies.”

The “giant lie” at the center of this case is that “Miss Heard’s claim that he was brutal and abusive and that she is a public figure representing domestic abu$e.” As we said, she came at her hard! Check out her full statement below:

So, how did Heard’s team respond to those arguments? Johnny certainly didn’t get off easy!

Amber’s lawyer Ben Rottenborn has taken a similar position, calling Mr. Depp the one at fault, whether he was abu$ive once or repeatedly:

“It’s simple, if you believe that Depp was abusive to Amber one time ..then your job is very easy. You can not only deny Mr. Depp’s claim, but affirm Amber’s counterclaim.”

He also added:

“They are trying to trick you to believe that Amber has to be perfect to win. Actually, if he fails to prove he didn’t abu$e Amber one time, she wins.”

Regarding Aquaman 2’s lead, he continued:

“This whole case is about blaming Amber Heard for things she didn’t do.”

“But that’s what Mr. Depp does, that’s what he’s always done. Blame other people, refuse to take accountability. But the problem for him here is he’s running head long into the United States Constitution.”

In response to the 36-year-old’s Washington Post op-ed about being a victim of domestic abu$e, he asked rhetorically:

“Does the First Amendment give Ms. Heard the right to write the words she wrote in this article on December 18, 2018? Should someone be able to write an article like that in the United States of America without going through Hell?”

According to Rottenborn, Depp “will do everything in his power to destroy [her] career and destroy [her] life,” adding:

“Just because people might read the article and remember that Amber Heard used to be married to Johnny Depp and she accused him of abu$e, that doesn’t mean that she designed and intended defamatory implications in writing about herself.”

According to him, if Amber had specifically written about the abu$e she was allegedly subjected to by her ex-husband, “it would have been a very different article,” continuing:

“Any damage to Mr. Depp’s career is self-caused.”

Oh my gosh! Here’s more from Rottenborn. Below:

Judge Penney Azcarate told the jury that the names of the jury members would be sealed for a year because of the “high profile nature” of the case. So that proves how far things have escalated in the last six weeks since she had never made a decision like that before. It’s now up to the jury to decide.

  1. How about this , Johnny never had any issues in relationships with women until #amberturd came along . #amberturd cannot act , she is never going to be a star doesn’t matter how many people she blows . She blew whatever chance she had at a career in Hollywood, now she can fade back into the woodwork with her ugly sister and enjoy their cat days alone .

  2. Amber Heard is lying. C performance, at best.

It was a bad marriage, both misbehaved. Depp followed his father’s pattern of docility/subserviance, but would not have raised his hand to his wife. He punished himself or escaped the abuse she brought to him through drugs and drink.

  3. That Amber’s been a liar from the beginning not providing any proof of the alleged beatings who pays people too be on stand and having her sister the only one too say she seen it first hand. My opi ion is Ms. Heard will pay for the lies and the perjury for the 7 million dollars and she needs to. Hope No one hires this lady as an actor as she is just a horrible human being

  4. I am sorry and I know this is controversial to say but many people are coming off as if they think that they actually know these people.. This is probably one of the best examples of “group hysteria” ever experienced. It’s like pitch forks and the “mob” judgement. The Simpsons cleverly use this type of humour, this very flawed human reaction to other people’s suffering.

People are actually believing that Amber will or SHOULD do time for being in this vile relationship or that she should at least receive 100 lashes. This whole disgusting show is bullying especially if either of them actually do have mental health issues or personality disorders. It’s bullying on a hysterical scale…

  5. I feel they’re both at fault and neither one of them should get anything! They both were wrong and it’s turned into a popularity contest at this point. I like Johnny Depp as an actor yes, but do I know him as a person..? No. So with that being said, I can’t say anything about wether it happened or not, and I’m sure that nobody else wants to say anything either because this is such a publicize trial that they could end up looking bad and people start sending them death threats because they worded against Johnny Depp. The whole thing is very scary, I just hope that God steps forward in this case and that the right thing is done otherwise women are going to feel like they cannot speak up. Best wishes to them both… 🤷🏼‍♀️
