Julia Fox is an Italian-American actress and model known for her debut performance in the 2019 crime thriller film Uncut Gems.
For her outstanding performance in the movie, Fox was also nominated for the Breakthrough Actor category at the 2019 Gotham Awards.
In one of her TikTok videos, the now 32-year-old actress recently revealed that she cried in bed for the whole day on her 27th birthday.
“This is how deep this s*** is for women…In the entertainment industry, 30 is f***ing considered old,” she said in the first of four videos that she shared on the platform.
“My BFF Harmony, God rest her soul, came and flew in to see me because she knew I’d be taking it really hard. My friends tried to come in my room with candles and cupcakes and s*** and I literally was like, ‘Get the f*** out! I told you we’re not celebrating! There’s nothing to celebrate!’ And I was, like, such a tyrant about it because I wanted the day to pass and just have it be…” she added.
The model-turned-actress said she even went on to ask her friends and family not to wish her on social media because she didn’t want her fans to notice that she was no longer in her mid-twenties.
“I was like, ‘Don’t post. I don’t want to draw attention to the fact that I’m 27. I just want it to pass by like any other day.’ And that’s sad because Harmony, the girl I was with, she died. She’s not even gonna have the privilege of getting older, you know. So we deny ourselves these milestones for what?” she asked rhetorically.
The mom-of-one stated that now she’s over her fear of getting older and all the insecurities accompanying aging.
She also said anti-aging products should be illegal because they ruin your self-esteem and never allow you to feel comfortable with your natural looks.
“And if I see another product that says “anti-aging” on the label, I’m suing,” said Julia.
“I’m going to sue because I’m going to age regardless of if I put that f***ing $500 serum on my face, and you all f***ing know it! And we know it so let’s stop lying to ourselves. Getting old is f***ing hot, okay? It is sexy. It is probably the sexiest time in life, actually, because being pretty and hot in your 20s is the f***ing trenches, okay? And I’m not going back there.”
Julia’s video received more than one million views on the platform, and many people, including her fellow celebrities and prominent content creators, showered her with loving and supportive comments.
“Julia, I love you.” Influencer Chrissy Chlapecka wrote.
“I love you,” Tana Mongeau added.
Meanwhile, model Emily Ratajkowski wrote “The actual trenches.”
“Aging is a privilege denied to many,” The Pink Mamba commented.
In her second video, fox told her 1.2 million followers that she didn’t lose weight to fit into ‘sample sizes’ but it happened unintentionally after the birth of her son.
“After I had my [21-month-old son Valentino] I was just, like, rapidly dropping all this weight. I was, like, “What the f***!” I literally was, like, “Do I have a tape worm?” Because my friends know I eat. Like, if you go to dinner with me. I’m not even talking. I’m just eating. Then I order all the desserts on the menu,” she said.
“And you still look good!! Period,” American actress Saki Jackson wrote.
“Happened to me after my first pregnancy. 13 months post-partum I was underweight, it was weird but I guess that’s how hormones regulate themselves!” Beatrice Martin added.
