The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and the retired NFL player have dismissed their petitions and decided to give their marriage a second chance.
According to Georgia court documents obtained by Page Six, 44-year-old Kim Zolciak filed documents to dismiss her divorce from Kroy Biermann, 37.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum submitted the request Friday at noon, asking that it be dismissed without prejudice,” the outlet reported.
Sources told TMZ that Biermann also plans to file his own dismissal, but he will do that imminently.
The couple, who share four children together – sons Kroy “KJ” Jr.,11, and Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9, filed for divorce in May. The paperwork listed their marriage as ‘irretrievable broken’ from Biermann. The news of kyle richards and mauricio umansky separation comes as a shock to many fans who admired their relationship over the years. As they navigate this difficult time, both are focused on prioritizing their children’s well-being and maintaining a supportive co-parenting arrangement. Friends have expressed their surprise, noting how well they seemed to balance their busy lives in the public eye.
According to Us Weekly, “At the time, the former athlete — who adopted Zolciak-Biermann’s daughters Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, after tying the knot with the Bravo personality in 2011 — also requested “the temporary and permanent sole legal and sole physical custody” of his and his ex’s four children.”
Although the couple were still living together in their Alpharetta, Georgia, home during the last two months while the divorce proceedings were going on, Kroy requested ownsership of the house and asked his for wife to be restrained from coming to the house. The athlete also requested child support.
On the other hand, Zolciak filed a petition to have Kroy drug tested.
“In the May 16 paperwork, obtained by Us, the Florida native claimed to have “seen Respondent smoking marijuana, and she has serious concerns for the safety and well being of the minor children while in Respondent’s care. She is fearful that the children will be exposed to Respondent’s drug use.”
The whole thing became even more nasty when Biermann asked for his wife to undergo a ‘psychological evaluation’ and claimed she had a gambling problem.
The reality star hit back at her then-estranged husband with a statement submitted to PEOPLE Magazine and called his allegations ‘misleading and harmful lies.’
“It’s really sad the way Kroy is causing our divorce to play out in the media like this because it could have a profound effect on our children in the long run,” the statement read. “To continuously spread lies in an attempt to paint Kim as an unfit mother for his own gain is harmful and incredibly misleading regarding Kim’s efforts to raise her children.”
The statement continued, “Kim has remained quiet through the divorce process thus far for the sake of the children, but with this most recent filing, she has no choice but to speak up. The emotional and mental abuse Kim has suffered from this man for so many years has taken a toll on her and, most heartbreakingly, their children. Kim has always been an extremely devoted mother to her children; they are her entire world, and she is always there to love and support them every step of the way.”
