No one will deny that the Kardashian family is no stranger to drama. And sometimes, the drama that surrounds this family can get very toxic. But despite everything that they’ve been through, they’ve all managed to rise above and keep going. And one of the best examples of their ability to withstand these rough patches is Kourtney and how she managed to break away from the toxicity of her ex Scott Disick.
Toxic Relationship Turned Sour
Kourtney Kardashian and her ex Scott Disick have three children together. Many women will struggle to break away from their toxic relationships when they have kids to think about. And granted, this is not a luxury that all women will have. There are so many struggling women who are forced to stay with toxic men because of their circumstances.
But there are a lucky few who can break away from their toxic relationships in pursuit of a better life, and Kourtney is one of those people. Kourtney’s relationship with Scott has been well-documented on their reality show Keeping Up with The Kardashians. The two first met in 2006 and eventually established a relationship that grew from there.
Their romance lasted for ten years, and the two share three kids together: Mason, Penelope, and Reign. However, all throughout the relationship, the two of had a substantially tricky time staying together. This has to do with Scott’s character and sheer inability to be an excellent partner to Kourtney. He was constantly partying and cheating on Kourtney as he struggled with alcoholism and his own personal demons.
Kourtney decided to call it quits in 2015, and that’s when Scott also decided to turn his life around by checking himself into a rehabilitation center.
Kourtney’s New Beginning
That’s when Travis Barker came along and helped Kourtney move on from that traumatic phase of her life. Whereas Scott was immature and unable to commit, Travis ultimately bought into his relationship with Kourtney. The couple, affectionately known as “Kravis” to their fans, is definitely not perfect, and they’ve both got a lot of emotional baggage that they carry into the relationship. But very few will contest the fact that they’re off to a perfect start.
One of the key aspects of making their relationship work is the fact that Kourtney and Travis started out as friends first before exploring the romantic aspect of their relationship. The two were first photographed on a date with one another after attending a Hillsong church service in 2018. But it wasn’t until 2021 that the two were really starting to be seen more frequently in public together. Travis even started to leave flirtatious comments on Kourtney’s Instagram, where she currently has more than 172 million followers.
Now, they are the picture of a happy relationship, and it just goes to show what kind of good can come from learning to cut toxic people out of your life. Do you have any experience of dealing with toxic people too? Share them in the comment section down below.
