One Direction star has reportedly parted ways with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, after less than a year.
Liam and Kate lived together in his London home before their split, but now she has moved out and returned to the States.
According to The Sun, the pair had no ‘bad blood’, and the breakup decision was mutual.
“Liam and Kate sat down after he returned from LA and decided it wasn’t working out. There was no big row or anything – it just ran its course, and they both mutually decided to go their separate ways,” a source revealed to the outlet.
“Kate moved out of Liam’s home and flew back to the US earlier this week. Liam knows it’s the right decision, he’s been throwing himself into his music and the rest of the year he is jampacked with work. The next few weeks alone will see him fly to back to the States and to Europe to wrap up his new album,” the source added.
The insider added that both Liam and Kate realized that the 29-year-old singer is so drenched in work and his career that it was not possible for him to carry on the relationship.
“In truth trying to juggle his career and keep his relationship alive throughout the summer and into autumn was always going to be tricky – they both realized that. His first record was Liam finding his feet and working out his sound … but he’s found his lane and the new tracks are his best yet.”
They were last photographed together in April at the showroom launch party of PrettyLittleThing.
Payne, 29, and Cassidy, who is a 24-year-old US model, started going out last year in October and made their relationship official by appearing together at the red carpet of the British Fashion Awards in December.
After the pair went official, many fans of the One Direction star gushed over them and sent good wishes to Payne. However, a few fans trolled Cassidy and claimed she was only dating him for money and the limelight.
In December, responding to one of her trolls, Liam posted a screenshot on his Instagram stories and hit back at the hater by writing,
“Gotta say you could tell me anything and I couldn’t be turned, I’ve never felt a love like I do for Katelyn. We make each other better people.”
“If it was just for the money I’d give her all of it,” he said to the person who accused Kate of being a gold digger. “It’s not though (please remember I’m hella sexy) and I know I’m fun and a loveable person,” the pop star continued. “And I don’t give a f*** to say that for the first time in my life I’m happy to be me and that’s priceless.”
Before dating Cassidy, the One Direction singer was romantically involved with model Maya Henry. The couple was in a relationship from 2019 to 2022 and was even briefly engaged for some time.
Before Maya, Payne had a relationship with Cheryl Cole, with whom he also shares a six-year-old son, Bear.
