Lizzo Threatens to QUIT Career Over Cruel Weight Jibes

The About Damn Time singer has threatened to quit her music career after receiving extremely offensive and mean comments about her weight online.

The 35-year-old songstress, known for her body-positive advocacy, often hits back at trolls who make hate comments about her weight. However, this time, she has had enough.

Recently, Lizzo, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson took huge offense at a mean comment by author Layah Heilpern on Twitter and said enough is enough.

“How is Lizzo still THIS fat when she’s constantly moving this much on stage?! I wonder what she must be eating,” Layah Heilpern wrote on Twitter.

In response, the Juice hitmaker, who is proud of her plus size and also owns her own inclusive shapewear line trashed the hater and said she is tired of all this offensive bullsh*t.

“JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of s**t I see about me on a daily basis It’s really starting to make me hate the world,” she said in her repost.

“Then someone in the comments said I eat “lots of fast food” I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bulls**t.”

She added that despite not touching fast food in years, eating clean all the time, and exercising, this is how her body looks now, and she is proud of it.

“Y’all really need to touch grass… I’m not trying to BE fat I’m not trying to BE smaller I’m literally just trying to live and be healthy. This is what my body looks like even when I’m eating super clean and working out! Yall speak on s**t y’all know NOTHING ABOUT and I’m starting to get heated,” she penned.

“I HATE IT HERE,” Lizzo said about Twitter. “The Love definitely do not outweigh the Hate on social media… all because I’m fat???? This is CRAZY. Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F*****G FARM…”

The star continued her post and said she is tired of seeing her name every day just because some mean people decide to wake up and send hate via social media.

“I literally NEVER search my name this stuff just comes up on my TL & my FYP it’s wild. I swear I just wanna look at dance videos and science news and this s**t comes in every day…” she wrote.

“ALSO: to the people who haven’t had an original thought or fresh air in years… BEING FAT ISNT MY ‘BRAND’ BEING FAT IS WHAT MY BODY LOOKS THAT. THATS IT. THATS ALL. My ‘brand’ is FEEL GOOD MUSIC My ‘brand’ is CHAMPIONING ALL PEOPLE My ‘brand’ is BLACK GIRL LIBERATION.”

“I’ve always led w my TALENT… But when I dropped Good As Hell feel good music was “corny” When I dropped Juice disco pop wasn’t “for them” When I was body positive in 2016 being body positive was “pandering” Now everybody on that wave and I’m still s**t on?! man f*** y’all.”

And she didn’t stop there, the fuming star also took to her Instagram and shared a series of sultry snaps on her account with caption, “I hate everyone today.”

The musician also shared a video on her feed in which she can be heard calling out her trolls at one of her recent concerts. The caption on the video read, “I WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT YALL MAKE IT FOR FAT PEOPLE TO SIMPLY EXIST. MINDING YOUR BUSINESS IS *FREE*”

“IF THE INTERNET WAS LIMITED AND ONE COMMENT TOOK 24HRS TO POST I WONDER WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA WOULD BE LIKE.”

Following her reaction, fans came to defend the superstar on Instagram and Twitter, slammed her haters, and said nobody has the right to body shame their favorite singer.

“Lizzo quite literally does nothing but live her life unapologetically, & she is hit with the most vile vitriol daily. All because instead of people finding joy in their own lives, they do all they can to cause pain in others. It’s truly disgusting & she deserves so much better,” one wrote.

“It’s ridiculous that Lizzo has to login everyday and see thinkpieces about her body. She’s performing a sold out tour, serving face, on a tv show every other night. Instead of talking about her success, people are constantly trying to steal her light,” a second said.

“I just wish people would leave Lizzo alone,” a third added.

“I hope anyone who has spoken a negative word against Lizzo stubs their toe on every table leg they pass,” a fourth fan tweeted.

“i dont see how lizzo’s body is any of yalls concern really…” another said.
