After the long-awaited success of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor in Virginia Court, fans are celebrating worldwide. People are going crazy on the internet, signing petitions and demanding public apologies from all those who let their Captain Jack Sparrow down.
The jury ruled in favor of Johnny Depp and cleared him of all the accusations. The seven-member jury stated that his ex-wife Amber defamed him in her 2018 op-ed.
After the verdict, both Amber Heard and her lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, expressed their disappointments in separate media statements and said that the jury’s decision wasn’t fair.
On Thursday, June 2, 2022, Elaine Bredehoft made a TV appearance on CBS Mornings, where she revealed that the Aquaman actress intends to appeal the verdict.
She said that the jury became influenced due to the massive social media outrage and presence of Johnny’s fans – inside and outside the courthouse.
“How can you not? They went home every night. They have families. The families are on social media. We had a 10-day break in the middle because of the judicial conference. There’s no way they couldn’t have been influenced by it.”
She further said, “I think that there were a lot of influences here that were beyond our control. And I think the social media, it was like a Roman coliseum, is the best way to describe the atmosphere here.”
While she remained persistent on her point that the court’s decision was ‘biased,’ the show’s co-host, Nate Burleson, responded to her takes with ultimate savagery.
He said that she should stop pointing fingers at others, including actor Johnny Depp, his legal team, the jury, the public, and the people on the internet, and what Elaine Bredehoft should instead do is look at her own shortcomings. He said the lawyer, along with her client, Amber Heard, should analyze the case with an open mind and see if they have made any mistakes.
The former 40-year-old footballer replied to her,
“I am a former NFL player, and after a hard loss, it’s easy to wake up and point to the other side. Oftentimes, I realized (that) the better thing to do was to look in the mirror. What mistakes did I make as a player? What mistakes did our coaching staff make [sic]? And then how can we improve from there.”
The episode went viral within a short time, and since then, various video clips of the conversation between Nate Burleson and Elaine Bredehoft have been shared on the internet.
People were pleased with Nate’s quick response and called it “savage.”
A fan on Twitter shared the video clip of Nate destroying Elaine with his brutal response and wrote,
“The most embarrassing 1.5 minutes of Elaine’s Life.”
Another wrote that “Nate Burleson shut down like a Boss.”
While the video is making rounds on social media, many people have started questioning the attorney if she had made the right choice by taking this case and defending Amber Heard.
