Goldie Hawn is an iconic Hollywood actress, dancer, singer, and producer who first rose to fame after appearing in NBC’s sketch comedy program Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-in. The show ran from 1968 to 1970 and made Hawn famous.
In 1969, Goldie received an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her outstanding performance as a supporting actress in Cactus Flower. Some of her other notable projects include Foul Play, Deceived, Swing Shift, Lovers and Liars, Housesitter, Dollars, CrissCross, Town & Country, The Sugarland Express, Seems Like Old Times, Overboard, and Protocol.
The actress married twice, but both marriages ended in divorce – in 1969, she tied the knot with Gus Trikonis. The pair parted ways in 1976.
Her second marriage was with Bill Hudson, with whom she shares two children, Oliver Hudson, and Kate Hudson. The couple wed in 1976 and divorced in 1982.
After two failed marriages, the Lovers and Liars star finally met the love of her life, Kurt Russell. The two legends of Hollywood have been together since 1983.
Hawn and Russell are not married; however, they make one of the industry’s most lovely and long-standing couples.
The couple first met in 1966 on the set of their movie, The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, but their romance didn’t start until 1983.
“I was 21, and he was 16, and I thought he was adorable, but he was much too young. And then years later we met up again, and I liked him and I remembered that I liked him very much when I first met him. But we both said we would never go out with another actor so it just shows you never can tell,” said Hawn in 2012.
Seventeen years after their first meeting, the couple reconnected on the set of Swing Shift, where Kurt tried to flirt with Goldie while he was drunk and somehow managed to gain her attention.
“I didn’t know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her many years before. I just didn’t know in my mind what I was going to see. She had a great body, and so the first that came out was ‘Man, you got a great figure.’ And it kind of came out quickly and it could’ve been wrong and she said, ‘Why thank you,’” he told Cannon O’Brien.
Soon after their reunion on the set of Swing Shift, the duo began dating, and ultimately, things became serious. In 1986, the couple welcomed their first child together – a son, Wyatt Russell.
In 2004, Goldie and Kurt became grandparents for the first time when Goldie’s daughter, Kate, gave birth to her first child.
“I would love to be a grandmother,” Goldie told PEOPLE in 2003. “I’m not pushing the matter, but it would be so much fun.”
Goldie and Kurt are grandparents to seven children. Today, Hawn is 77, and Russell is 72 years old.
The classical Hollywood actress is a doting grandmother to her six grandkids – her daughter Kate has two sons, Ryder, 18, and Bingham, 11. Meanwhile, Oliver has three children, son Wilder, son Bodhi, and daughter Rio.
Oliver’s youngest child, Rio Oliver Hawn, who is 9 years old, is the spitting image of her star grandmother. Goldie often shares pictures of her grandkids, and her fans always compare Rio with her grandma and say she looks exactly like Goldie.
“I look at our kids and grandchildren and there’s nothing in the world that could make me as proud as I am of all them,” she once said. “Being a grandmother is amazing, I love it. It brings incredible joy. Family is so important.”
