A woman from America who sees herself as a dog shared details about her daily routine. The social media personality, known as Meow, joined The Kyle & Jackie O Show on KIIS FM to talk about her unique lifestyle.
During the interview with hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, she revealed that she sleeps in a crate, receives dog treats as rewards, and has people called “handlers” who assist in taking care of her.
Meow, who streams her content on the gaming platform Twitch, describes her identity as a Dalmatian. She engages in behaviors typical of a dog, such as barking and running on all fours, fully embracing her life as a canine.
She mentioned that she prefers to rest in a crate instead of sleeping in a bed like most people. Meow explained that being confined helps her feel secure and safe, especially at night.
“I have pastel blankets and pastel pillows in there, something about being in a confined space, I don’t know if it makes me feel safe from the world or makes me feel like the world is safe from me but it feels comfort for sure!” she said.
“It can fit me, the rule of thumb with a dog is that if they can stand up in it, then it’s big enough for them, so as long as I’m on all fours standing up.”
When questioned about her identity, whether she merely feels a connection with dogs or truly identifies as one, Meow clarified that she considers herself a “dog girl.” She explained that she has always been drawn to the playful nature of dogs, emphasizing her love for “play” as a defining aspect of her identity.
“I think that the wonder that comes with play and just being enchanted with life around you is a beautiful thing. I’m not sure if I ever put two and two together that I had to stop that whenever I became an adult. I figured that once I make my own money and pay my own rent, then I can extra do anything I want, and I wanted to be a dog!”
Radio host and shock jock Kyle inquired about Meow’s romantic life, asking if she had a boyfriend. She responded that she doesn’t have a romantic partner but relies on her “handlers” for companionship.
Meow explained that her relationship with her handlers is non-sexual. They are her friends who take her on walks, feed her, and support her lifestyle. These handlers share similar interests with her or are simply supportive of her unique way of living.
“I have handlers. Kind of like dog trainers. They feed me, they take me on walks, we practice training, which is one of my favourite things, because I get treats,” she told Kyle.
When questioned about the treats she receives, the social media star said that she enjoys shredded chicken, jerky, and occasionally dog biscuits as rewards for good behavior.
She shared that although she sometimes eats dog food, she likes to enhance it with additional ingredients. Meow explained that dog food can be a bit bland for her taste, so she often adds bone broth or other additives to make it more flavorful.
When asked if she compensates her regular handlers, Meow responded, “I don’t. It’s funny, I don’t have to pay anyone to spend time with me.”
The cosplayer expressed that she feels a sense of being “more human” when she connects with the “primal, animalistic” aspects of her personality. She emphasized that she isn’t concerned about others’ opinions of her lifestyle choices, embracing her true self without reservation.
“I don’t find myself focusing on other people and their reactions toward me because I’m so in the moment of just chasing the ball, being the dog, I want to sit and perform for whoever is my focus,” she said.
Meow often shares glimpses of her life with her fans on Instagram, where she uses the username meowdalyn and has amassed 11,300 followers.
When Kyle inquired about her bedroom habits in relation to her dog lifestyle, Meow clarified, “The dog side of me is an everyday lifestyle, so I find myself not needing that in the bedroom at all.”
