Meg Ryan, 61, Looks Unrecognizable in Rare Public Appearance in NYC

Veteran Hollywood actress Meg Ryan looked unrecognizable as she made a rare public appearance in New York to support her friend, Michael J. Fox, at the screening of his new documentary at the Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center.

The Sleepless in Seattle actress, who has not been photographed since November 2022, appeared in good spirits as she posed for photos with her pals, including Michael, Bill Murray, and Elvis Costello.

However, it was noticeable that Ryan, who has always denied having any cosmetic procedures or plastic surgery, looked very different with her ‘plumper pout and wrinkle-free skin.’

The Top Gun actress was seen wearing a pair of plaid pants, a red blouse, and a black trench coat matched with her black boots.

After looking at the photos, many baffled fans took to Twitter to express their views about her new unrecognizable face and claimed she had undergone plastic surgery in an attempt to look much younger than her age.

“This is Meg Ryan. Hopefully women will learn from this. Plastic Surgery is for Frankenstein,” one wrote.

“Meg Ryan spent thousands to make herself unrecognizable and hideous,” a second added alongside the before and after pictures of the actress.

“Yikes…just say no to Botox and fillers ladies. Don’t take it from me, take it from Madonna and Meg Ryan,” a third noted.

“Wtf has Meg Ryan done to her face?!” asked another fan.

“This is Meg Ryan Now? WTF Happened? Christ……” said another.

Some furious fans also compared her changed appearance with that of Madonna, who has been in the news after getting plastic surgery which, according to her fans, was a ‘horrible attempt’ to look younger than her age on behalf of the Frozen singer.

“Meg Ryan and Madonna should team up for a horror flick,” someone said.

“Jesus wtf did she do. Meg Ryan looks awful. Her and Madonna obviously have the same plastic surgeon,” another added.

The actress has appeared in several hit Hollywood movies throughout her career, including, Sleepless in Seattle, Joe Versus the Volcano, You’ve Got Mail, City of Angles, French Kiss, In the Cut, Kate & Leopold, When a Man Loves a Woman, I.Q., Proof of Life, Against the Ropes, Flesh and Bone, My Mom’s New Boyfriend, D. O. A., and Rich and Famous.

In 2015, during an interview with Porter Magazine, Ryan discussed her fans’ speculations about her undergoing cosmetic surgery and said,

“I don’t pay a lot of attention, frankly. There’s a lot of hatred in the world today. It’s so easy to judge. Imagine being a hater, how stupid.”

She added, “I was burned out. I didn’t feel like I knew enough anymore about myself or the world to reflect it as an actor. I felt isolated.”

A year after she denied having any alterations to her face, plastic surgeon Mark Youssef analyzed Meg’s face to Hollywood Life and said the You’ve Got Mail star has had ‘too many alterations.’

“The most obvious thing that she’s had done is some sort of filler or fat transfer to her cheek,” he told the outlet. “It’s definitely too much because the apple of her cheek is too full and too large. When she smiles, all of that filler moves up and makes her eyes look smaller.”

“The reason she looks masculine is because of the placement of the volume in her cheeks. The volume of the filler should have been placed more laterally to give her a softer look.”

The skin expert also claimed that Meg Ryan had a nose job, Botox, and a facelift procedure done.

“The tip of her nose is narrower than before. The tip looks more pinched, so it’s very possible that she had some sort of rhinoplasty,” Youssef continued. “The surgery that most drastically changes the shape of the face is a face lift. It looks like Meg Ryan may have had one. It’s possible because the shape of her face has changed so much. The texture of her face also looks different. It looks like she could have had some sort of laser skin resurfacing procedure.”
