Michael Jackson’s nephew praised Will Smith for smacking Chris Rock as he slammed the comedian’s Netflix special.
Taking to his Twitter, the 49-year-old American singer said Chris Rock has used his family as “punching bags” for his entire career.
“Chris Rock has used my family as punching bags for his entire career. Yet I am supposed to feel bad for him getting slapped and humiliated on the Oscars,” he wrote.
Mentioning Rock’s insensitive jokes about his uncle, the king of pop music – Michael Jackson, based on the previous sexual abuse accusations and comparing him to R. Kelly, Taj wrote,
“After seeing a new clip of him attacking my dead uncle in the first minutes of his “Retaliation-I’m still relevant ”special, I have 3 things to say,”
He continued, “1. What did my family ever do to you to warrant these decades of harassment and your constant bullying disguise as jokes? 2. Just because you were bullied early on in life doesn’t give you the excuse to bully others now. 3. Thank you Will Smith.”
Before his Netflix special episode, Chris Rock attacked the Thriller superstar and said there was no difference between him and convicted sexual predator, Kelly.
Last week, a year after being smacked by Will Smith, Chris Rock finally addressed the infamous ‘Oscar slap.’
The comedian did not hold back his feelings.
During his Netflix live-streamed comedy special, ‘Chris Rock: Selective Outrage’ he made several comments about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
“You know what people say, they say, “words hurt…” anybody who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” he said.
On March 28, 2022, on the eve of the 94th Academy Awards, the world witnessed an iconic slap by Will Smith. When presenter Chris Rock joked about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, initially, everyone laughed, including Smith himself. But a few moments later, the actor stood up from his seat and went on stage, where he smacked Chris and said, “keep my wife’s name outta your ****ing mouth.”
After the smacking, the 54-year-old actor came under heavy criticism and backlash, and most people, including his fellow actors and colleagues, bashed him for reacting so aggressively.
“You all know what happened to me, getting smacked by Suge Smith,” said Rock. “It still hurts. I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears. But I’m not a victim, baby. You’ll never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying … I took that hit like Pacquiao.”
“A lot of people like, ‘How come you didn’t do nothing back that night?’” he added. “Cause I got parents. Cause I was raised. You know what my parents taught me? Don’t fight in front of white people.”
Blasting both Smith and Jada, the Grown Ups actor said,
“Will Smith practices selective outrage. Everybody know what the f–k happened. Everybody that really knows knows I had nothing to do with that s–t. I didn’t have any entanglements. His wife was f–king her son’s friend.”
He added that he usually doesn’t talk about such matters, but the couple publicly discussed it on Jada’s Red Table Talk.
“I have no idea why two talented people would do something that low down. We all been cheated on,” he said. “None of us have ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television. Why the f–k would you do that s–t? She hurt him way more than he hurt me, okay?”
Chris also said that after Jada confirmed her entanglement with August Alsina, he tried reaching out to Smith to console him but he never picked up his calls.
“Everybody in the world called him a bitch. I tried to call the mother–ker and give him my condolences he didn’t pick up for me,” he said. “Everybody called that man a bitch. They called his wife a predator. And who’s he hit? Me, a n—- he knows he can beat. That is some bitch-a– s–t.”
The stand-up comedian also said he didn’t pick on Jada at the Oscars last year before recalling Oscars 2016 when Jada boycotted the ceremony during the #OscarsSoWhite frenzy and asked Rock not to participate in the show.
“Years ago, his wife said I should quit the Oscars. I shouldn’t host ’cause her man didn’t get nominated for Concussion. And then he gives me a f***ing concussion,” he said.
“I did some jokes about her. Who gives a f—? That’s how it is: She starts it, I finish it. That’s what the f— happened. Nobody’s pickin’ on this bitch. She started this s—. Nobody was pickin’ on her.”
