It’s every mother’s right to teach her kids according to however she wants – as long as she’s raising happy children, no one gets to question what a mother teaches her children. Today’s story is about a 40-year-old mother from Charleston, South Carolina, USA – Cayce LaCorte.

Cayce has five daughters. And she’s teaching them something very different about life and growing up. Cayce has a TikTok account where she shares her journey of raising her five daughters and teaching them how to lead a happy life. In a “stitch video” on TikTok, a user asked her the following question:

“Name something about the way you raised your kids that people think is weird but you think it’s healthy.”

Cayce, who goes by the username @book_mama on TikTok, responded to the question with her own take on her teachings. Cayce said:

“I’m gonna get a lot of sh*t for this but what are you gonna do?”
“I’m raising my five daughters to believe that there is no such thing as virginity.”
“It is a patriarchal concept used to control women & serves not purpose other than making women feel bad about ourselves.”
“…It does not change your worth, it does not change who you are, it doesn’t do anything other than it happened.”
“$ex is important, it’s a big deal, it should always be a big deal. It has nothing to do with your ‘first time.'”
“It’s just ridiculous, the whole concept is ridiculous…”
“I’m raising them (my daughters) to be good people and have solid foundations. And make their own choices and make smart, intelligent choices…”

Cayce received tremendous praise from women and mothers on her video. They supported her decision to raise her daughters this way.

“👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I love this. I hate that people use it to equate someone’s virtue and worth. Thank you for speaking up.”

  1. What is wrong with you all? I am a Grandmother, a GreatGrandmother, and a Mother with almost all girls within my family. Teaching them that there is no such thing as virginity is just plain wrong morally. You may call me “Old Fashioned” but it’s wrong and it will affect them down the road. I’m not saying to give them a hard time if they are not, but just to not inform them…? “Mother” your sons and your daughters, Ladies.

    1. In what way will it harm them down the road? Do you mean if they find a man who wants a virgin and married them and uh…beats her when he finds out?

Or maybe you meant when she grows up loving her body and being a confident amazing woman who teachers her daughter’s to be confident loving women as well?

  2. I definitely get where she is coming from. But, having said that , she obviously doesn’t believe that the Bible is the word of God . The Bible states very clearly that sex outside of marriage is a sin. If you believe in God than you can’t believe that sex outside of marriage is ok.

    1. Believing in God and believing in a Bible are two completely different things. To believe in a Bible is to believe that all people who took any part in it did not lie/make stuff up etc. I personally do not agree with Christianity in any aspect besides basic morals like don’t kill. I do however believe in God or a God. A higher power. If there is honestly a higher power that would punish a person for having sexual desires which are natural because we are animals like all other animals on the planet, they are not a God I want anything to do with and the thought that people like following someone who would care about something so arbitrary, doesn’t make any sense. Why would someone follow someone so horrible and hateful that they’d punish people for living?

    2. You can’t take everything in the Bible as the word of God. It was written by men, not God, and there is plenty of crazy stuff in there. Including this.

  3. I think it’s a good idea to let daughters know that their worth isn’t based on their virginity, however I do still believe that virginity is sacred. To me $ex isn’t just a thing, it’s sharing a part of your soul. And for that reason people should put a lot of thought into those actions. That the first time should be with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, because the first time does mean something and it is different. But I know life doesn’t always go the way we plan and sometimes we don’t get to spend our lives with that person, which is why I agree that it’s also important to let our kids know that their value is based on virginity.

  4. She’s raising her kids how she wants. I support that. As for everyone quoting the bible…new flash, not everyone believes in it. I might I might not. It’s no one’s business what religion I believe. And it’s rude to try and push your religious beliefs on someone else.

  5. If you give yourself to anyone then find the Special person l am sure you will wish you had saved yourself to be just His. Also just remember you don’t know how many girls they have been with OR what you could catch putting yourself at risk is NOT a good thing

  6. no matter the subject….if u dont want judged by society……don’t put it on social media….thats common sense…….

  7. Wow what i am reading here is seriously hillarious. You all wanna tell me that you are raising your children like Bible taught you to? Or is it just only one part about virginity and sins? Tell your children how to love yourself and how to love their next! This is most important part of it! Everything else they will figure out!
