Their marriage is ‘irretrievably broken.’

American TV personality and singer Kimberleigh Marie Zolciak has filed for divorce from her husband of almost twelve years, Kroy Biermann.

According to TMZ, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta alum has listed her separation date from the ex-NFL star as April 30.

In the filing, Kim has described their marriage as “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”

“Zolciak-Biermann is seeking primary physical custody of their children and joint legal custody; she has also asked for spousal support and the restoration of her maiden name,” per PEOPLE.

The pair tied the knot in November 2011 and share four children together – Kroy Jagger (KJ), 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9.

After their marriage, the 37-year-old athlete also adopted Kim’s daughters from her previous marriage to Daniel Toce. Robert De Niro’s new family addition has brought a wave of joy into their household. The couple is often seen spending quality time together, creating lasting memories with their blended family. This new chapter in their lives seems to have strengthened their bond even further.

The news of their breakup comes amid rumors about the couple having financial conflicts – it was reported in February that their five-bedroom mansion in Georgia is in ‘foreclosure.’

According to Us Weekly, “An auction of the home was scheduled that month but later canceled by the law office of Brock & Scott, PLLC.”

“The pair purchased the 6,900-square-foot residence in 2012 for $880,000. The twosome — who wed in 2011 — defaulted on their mortgage payments in August 2022 before Trust Bank began its foreclosure proceedings on the mansion, which is located in the Manor Golf & Country Club in Alpharetta, Georgia. An auction was initially scheduled for March 7.”

However, once the news became public, Kim’s daughters, Brielle and Ariana, denied its authenticity and asked fans not to believe ‘everything they hear.’

“Don’t believe everything you hear,” Ariana told TMZ in an interview. “Everything is still there. We all live there.”

The publication has now said in a new report that the pair owes the IRS more than 1 million in taxes, interest, and penalties from 2013, 2017, and 2018.

Last year in November, Kim also rejected the speculations about her finances and showed off her house on her Instagram stories and told her followers it was not being sold and anyone who believed the news would be an idiot.

“Ok you guys, my house had not sold for $257,000,” she said at the time. “If you guys think I would let my home that we’ve put millions and millions of dollars into go for $257,000, you’re an idiot, OK? For real.”

Last year, the Bravo stars celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary. Everything seemed perfectly fine as they also sat down in an interview with E! News and shared their secret of happy marriage.

“If you’re asking for a secret, lots of intimacy,” Kim joked before adding that good communication was the real reason behind their strong bonding and content relationship.

“I think one of the biggest secrets is also communication. Choosing to love that person day in and day out, I think it’s a choice and a lot of times people are just so quick to throw in the towel.”

Speaking with the outlet, the NFL player said being featured in reality shows didn’t affect their relationship, and they were more than happy with each other.

“Whether you’re married on camera or a regular person married, I don’t think there’s any difference,” said Kroy. “And I think when things get tough, people don’t want to stay true to their vows and stay true to their partner.”

The player added, “They’d rather just say screw it and try it on the next one, but you got to hold true to your promises that you gave that person when you were standing in front of your friends and family.”
