We all witnessed an intense legal battle between the Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp and the Aquaman actress Amber Heard.
The former couple first met in 2009 during the shooting of ‘The Rum Diary’ – Both Johnny and Amber testified during their court case that while the film was being shot, they felt some “chemistry” between them.
The two officially started dating in 2012, and three years later, they tied the knot on Johnny’s private island. However, their marriage didn’t become their ‘best decision,’ and they started having problems.
And after being married for just two years, they legally dissolved their partnership in 2017.
In 2018, Amber Heard wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post and stated that she had survived domestic abuse. She didn’t name and shame anyone in the post, but it was quite evident who she was referring to.
Following the op-ed, many controversies emerged. Johnny Depp lost his ‘hot favorite actor’ status in Hollywood after being removed from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Then, in 2019, he sued his ex-wife Amber Heard for defaming him.
Heard, in return, countersued him in 2020 for orchestrating a “smear campaign” against her.
Their legal battle officially started in April 2022 and involved lots of drama, arguments, testimonies, and witnesses. And after a sick trial that continued for at least six weeks, the jury ruled in favor of Johnny Depp.
And not just the jury but the public also sided with the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ actor and called Amber Heard a ‘manipulative liar.’
Throughout the trial, she faced a lot of hatred and criticism from Depp’s fans and some fellow celebrities. In one court proceeding, Warner Bros executive Walter Hamada showed up and told the jury that the actress had no “natural chemistry” with her co-star Jason Momoa. Hence, they had to reduce her role in the Aquaman sequel.
Since then, news has been circulating that Amber Heard’s professional career is officially over, and she is nowhere to be seen in Hollywood in the future. And when Johnny won the case last week, people said she had lost everything.
But it seems not true, as the actress currently has two movies in the pipeline.
According to Marca reports, before the Virginia trial started, the actress was spotted on the set of an upcoming movie, ‘In the fire,’ directed by Conor Allyn.
The outlet stated that in the movie, set in the 18th century, she is playing the role of a North American psychiatrist who travels to a remote plantation to take care of a boy with unique abilities.
Reports claim that she is already done with the shooting of the movie. However, there is no news of its release date yet.
Meanwhile, there’s another film project that she is reportedly a part of; ‘Run Away With Me.’
According to IMDb, the film revolved around the ‘criminal underworld’ of the modeling industry in Europe.
Apart from these two, her Aquaman sequel is also scheduled to be released in 2023.
So, with all these reports, it seems like things aren’t looking so bad for the 36-year-old actress after all.
