Robert Irwin has Engagement Plans with Girlfriend Rorie Buckey After Less than a Year of Dating

Robert Irwin is the only son of Steve Irwin, aka The Crocodile Hunter, and like his father, Robert is also recognized as a TV personality, zookeeper, conservationist, and wildlife photographer.

Robert hosts a show called Robert’s Real Life Adventures on his family zoo’s internal television network. He also co-hosted Discovery’s Wild But True series and co-created the book series Robert Irwin: Dinosaur Hunter.

Currently, the teenager stars on the Animal Planet series Crikey! It’s The Irwins with his mother, Terri, and elder sister, Bindi.

The 19-year-old also works at the Australia Zoo, where he does everything his late father used to do in his life, such as feeding the animals, wrestling crocodiles, and handling snakes.

Although Robert is just a teenager, currently, he’s planning his engagement with his girlfriend of seven months, Rorie Buckey.

The New Idea Magazine has reported that Steve Irwin’s son wished to walk the aisle ‘soon’ with his 18-year-old girlfriend whom he desires to wed. However, an insider claimed that his mother, Terri Irwin is not quite happy about his decision and thinks her son is moving ‘too fast.’

“Terri feels like Robert is moving way too fast,” a source claimed to the publication.

“Rorie’s a sweetheart, and it’s easy to see why he is absolutely smitten, but Terri knows the stakes are high,” the insider added.

The source also claimed that Robert’s elder sister, Bindi, also has reservations about her brother’s possible marriage.

The pair is in a long-distance relationship, with Robert based in Queensland, Australia, while Rorie lives in Perth.

Last month the love-struck couple was spotted at Perth Airport, where they packed on the PDA after Robert traveled to Perth to meet his girlfriend’s family.

According to Daily Mail, “Perth-based Rorie is the daughter Heath Ledger’s sister Kate, who owns a design and media productions company, and Nathan Buckey, a floor coverings store owner.”

“Rorie is believed to be studying a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Curtin University. She also has an identical twin sister named Scarlett.”

Robert was only two years old when his father, who rose to international fame with his Television documentary on wildlife called The Crocodile Hunter, died while shooting underwater with stingrays – he was shooting for his new underwater film called Ocean’s Deadliest.

The news of Irwin’s death shocked fans all over the world. He was 44 years old when he passed away. 16 years after his death, Irwin remains one of the world’s most endearing and fascinating characters.

Today the Irwin family is keeping his dream alive and continues to work for the work of environment conservation and wildlife.

Since his tragic passing on November 15, 2006, this day is celebrated yearly as National Steve Irwin Day, and Australians join the Irwin family to pay tribute to the legendary zookeeper.
