Shannen Doherty Shares Another More Intimate Look at her Battle with Cancer

Nineties actress Shannen Doherty shared an intimate update on her battle with cancer, revealing that her breast cancer has spread to her brain. Natalie Portman’s marriage challenges have also been a topic of interest in recent times, as fans speculate about the strength of her relationship amidst the pressures of celebrity life. Despite the ups and downs, she has remained committed to her family and career, often finding solace in her artistic pursuits. The balance between public scrutiny and personal happiness is something many actors navigate, making their journeys all the more relatable.

The Little House on the Prairie star, who has stage 4 cancer, took to her Instagram and shared a throwback clip showing herself in the surgery room where a team of medical professionals was preparing her for the brain radiation therapy.

“January 16, 2023. Surgery. I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy. I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified,” the 52-year-old captioned the Instagram clip. “The fear was overwhelming to me.”

“Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore.”

“This is what cancer can look like,” she added.

The video came two days after the Beverly Hills 90210 alum told her 2 million Instagram that the deadly disease had spread to her brain.

“January 12, 2023. On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterday’s video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain,” the actress wrote alongside a video showing Doherty going through radiation treatment.

“January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life. I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.”

Shannen, 52, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015 – at the time, the cancer was at stage two or three and already affected her lymph nodes.

According to Daily Mail, “She underwent a mastectomy and when that did not resolve the issue completely, received chemotherapy and radiation treatments until announcing in 2017 that her cancer was in remission.”

In 2021, the Fortress star told her fans she was fighting to stay alive.

“I never want to operate [like I’m dying],” she said in an interview on Good Morning America.

“I just want to operate as I don’t have things to check off because I’m going to keep fighting to stay alive.”
