Recently the British TV personality spoke to TMZ and defended Kanye’s ‘White Lives Matter’ narrative. She also jokingly said that she wants her $900K back from the BLM movement.
“Well, we gave $900,000 to [Black Lives Matter], and I’d like my money back, please,” she said to the TMZ reporter who approached her while shopping in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.
Although the 69-year-old did not specifically say why she wanted her money back, she defended Kanye’s White Lives Matter controversy and said,
“I don’t understand why white lives don’t matter. I don’t understand it. It’s not my culture. Everybody matters, don’t they?”
She further asked people to stop hating him for his takes on social media and insisted that if they can’t, they should just ignore the Flashing Lights singer.
“Don’t go to his social media. Don’t listen to his music. Leave the guy alone. Let him do what he does, and if you don’t like him, do that.
“Leave him alone.”
The rapper attracted criticism and backlash from the public after he wore a ‘White Lives Matter’ at one of his shows at the Paris Fashion Week.
According to Daily Mail, “Ye is embroiled in controversy, once again, for wearing a ‘white lives matter’ shirt to his Yeezy fashion show in Paris (and putting his models in the tops as well). He also railed against the Black Lives Matter movement and called it a scam.”
“The mogul’s stance, which is reminiscent of the time in 2018 when called slavery a choice, has prompted feuds with everyone from Gigi Hadid to the Kardashians to a prominent Vogue editor.”
Kanye, also known as Ye’s latest stunt did not sit well with the majority; many people called him out for being extremely irresponsible and insensitive toward a super-sensitive issue.
“Kanye west making Black models wear “ white lives matter” shirts is a culmination of his anti-blackness and his immersion in white supremacy ideologies and methods. Disgusting,” someone wrote on Twitter.
“Kanye West’s decision to wear a “White Lives Matter” shirt is disgusting, dangerous, and irresponsible. Some of y’all will rush to defend him. You should ask yourselves why…” said another.
“So many folks are trying to excuse Kanye wearing a white lives matter t-shirt as just a troll move or marketing. Maybe it is. But it’s a dangerously dumb message to send for someone with his massive platform. I been off dude. But y’all go ahead labeling his foolishness as genius,” another wrote.
Meanwhile, Sharon’s new statements came just a few weeks after she admitted that she was not a racist.
“I learned a lot through [getting canceled] but you are who you are. I am not a racist … never said one racist thing,” Sharon told the Daily Mail in September. “People are woke, it’s a whole different world out there. People conduct themselves differently now.”
“There are three things I never want to talk about, religion, politics, and minority groups because you can never win. There will be 50 percent that agrees with you and 50 that think you’re an a**hole.” She said.
