Studies Say That Men Spend Seven Hours Per Year In The Bathroom

Bathroom time. We all need our bathroom time. As human beings, we are all going to need to relieve ourselves from time to time and that’s normal. Whenever nature calls, we must always be ready to pick up. And nature can call at any time. It can call us whenever we’re at work. It can call us whenever we’re in the comforts of our own home. We all have to use toilets as a means to eliminate waste from our body. However, you would be surprised to know that a lot of men actually treat their bathroom time as some kind of leisure time. Of course, the bathroom isn’t exactly an entertainment room. It’s unlikely that a bathroom is going to have the same setup as a living room, for example. And so why would the process of clearing your bowels and eliminating your waste actually be a form of entertainment? It would seem completely weird for anyone to say that they treat their bathroom time as entertainment time.

You wouldn’t really trust a person who would say something like that, right? However, you would be surprised to know that a lot of men actually do think this way. There are plenty of men out there who go to use the bathroom without even necessarily using the bathroom. They go to the bathroom not to relieve themselves, but to just get away from the real world for a little bit. It’s no secret that a bathroom can be considered as a kind of sanctuary for a lot of us. It’s a place where we can just enjoy complete privacy and solitude. That is why a lot of men tend to treat their bathroom time as “me time”. In fact, there is substantial research out there that confirms this idea. Studies have shown that the average man spends at least seven hours every year in the bathroom purely as a form of escape.

Okay, I know what you guys are thinking right about now: since a lot of guys are always sneaking off to the bathroom and they spend so much time in there, they must be up to no good. Well, that’s not necessarily the case. Try to open your mind up a little more and give men the benefit of the doubt. It’s really not about anything malicious or naughty. It’s not about anything like that at all. In fact, it’s about something that is very serious and deep.

A vast majority of men in the world mostly retreat to the bathroom to get away from all the noise and chatter in the world. Men go to the bathroom to gain some peace and quiet in a very chaotic life. This can be a very therapeutic experience for a lot of people who deal with a lot of stress in their lives. And this isn’t just some mere assumption. This is actually backed by legitimate research.

This study was commissioned by a popular Bathroom company called Pebble Grey. They conducted a poll that had around 1000 male participants. And these men actually confirmed that they like to take their time in the toilet for a large number of reasons. Some men will hide in the bathroom so that they can escape from their women who are nagging all of the time. They are trying to hide from their kids who just have way too much energy.

They hide in the bathroom as a means to avoid doing chores that they don’t want to do. Or maybe they just want some time to browse through their smartphones without being disturbed by anyone else. To you, it might sound like a really weird way to just gain some solitude in life. However, the same studies have found that 10% of male visits to the bathroom actually end up being interrupted by something anyway. And that only feeds into the desperation for men to just get away from it all.

A spokesperson for the company that conducted the study has said: “We all need a little bit of time to ourselves – to take stock or switch off completely. And the bathroom appears to be the go-to place for those moments – it’s very much a sanctuary, somewhere we can cut ourselves off from the outside world, albeit just temporarily. As the results suggest, peace and quiet are sacred and clearly, men take the opportunity to get this where they can – often in the bathroom.”

On top of that, 45% of men who took the poll actually said that they struggle with getting time to be with just themselves. In addition to that, 25% of men said that their partners don’t really appreciate how busy their lives are. And another 25% of men have also said that they consider the bathroom to be their safe place.
