Taylor Swift Stuns at Academy Museum Gala Amid Feud Rumors

Taylor Swift Academy Museum Gala night began on the red carpet in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 17, in a custom icy blue Dior ballgown and 32-carat diamond earrings from Chopard. Page Six called the event the “Met Gala of the West.” Swift, 36, arrived alone. Her husband did not join her on the red carpet as he is set to play tomorrow.

She was there to work, too. The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced earlier this month that the 14-time Grammy winner would be the signature performer closing out its annual fundraiser.

Taylor Swift Academy Museum Gala Look

Pleated silk. A beaded bow. Pale blue from top to hem.

Page Six described the dress as fit for a pop princess and gave the look a Cinderella framing. Us Weekly went with icy blue. Either way, Swift kept everything else soft. She swapped her signature red lip for pale pink and wore her hair in a curly half-up style after getting a shoulder-length trim earlier in October. Aquazzura shoes finished it at the bottom.

Chopard handled the rest. Us Weekly reported the platinum earrings carried 32 carats of diamonds, with Page Six putting the exact figure at 32.40. She added an 18-carat gold ring inset with 5.78 carats of diamonds and a platinum bracelet with 5.04 carats. All three pieces come from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection.

Dior was no random pick. Swift wore a Dior Haute Couture wedding gown by Jonathan Anderson when she married Travis Kelce at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 3. Photos of that bridal dress still have not been released. Page Six suggested the gala gown could easily pass as her “something blue.”

Us Weekly framed Saturday’s choice as part of a growing collaboration between Swift and the brand. Three months after the wedding, the same house dressed her for a night where the bride showed up solo.

The Honors at the Academy Museum Gala

Swift was the closing act, not the guest of honor. The 2026 honorees were horror pioneer John Carpenter, actor and filmmaker Colman Domingo, and Oscar winner Charlize Theron.

Amy Homma, Director and President of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection, announced Swift’s slot on October 7. She called Swift “an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world.” Homma said the museum looked forward to the performance closing an evening honoring three filmmakers.

Now in its sixth year, the gala raises money for the museum’s exhibitions, educational programs and public screenings. Rolex is the founding supporter. Steven Spielberg and his wife, Kate Capshaw, co-chaired alongside directors Robert Rodriguez and Tom Ford.

Couples filled the host committee. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann. Adrien Brody and his partner Georgina Chapman. Jessica Alba, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Hudson, Olivia Munn, Demi Moore, Rami Malek and Teyana Taylor were also listed.

Why Travis Kelce Skipped the Red Carpet

Kelce had a game. Travis Kelce did not join Taylor Swift on the red carpet at the gala. He is set to play the Los Angeles Chargers tomorrow at Arrowhead Stadium.

Page Six also guessed Swift would likely fly to join him after midnight. Gala in Los Angeles, performance to close the night, then a flight east to catch a Sunday kickoff.

Newlyweds in their first fall together, and their calendars pulled them to opposite ends of the country on the same weekend. Plenty of couples treat the first year of marriage as a stretch of doing everything side by side. Swift and Kelce are running it the other way. She took the big public night alone, in a gown from the house that made her wedding dress, while he worked. Splitting up for a night and then traveling to cover the gap is a quieter kind of commitment than a joint red carpet photo, and it rarely makes the pictures.

Saturday night belonged to Swift and the three honorees. Sunday belonged to Arrowhead. Whether she made it to the stadium is still unknown.
