Considering the fantastic body of work that Bruce Willis has produced over his illustrious career, fans may think that his most remarkable achievements lie in his professional life.
It also wouldn’t be farfetched to think that the actor spent most of his time just working. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. In an interview that he gave back in 2013, Willis opened up about the importance of his friends and family.
“My family and friends are the most significant part of my life, and no film script will ever change that… I don’t have much to get upset about in life.”
Family has always been an important part of Bruce’s life.
“I sometimes worry about my daughters but I try to tell them how to avoid the bad guys out there. Your kids need your love and attention and being able to devote myself to them is very fulfilling. As I get older, spending time with my daughters makes things much easier. You learn to put your ego aside.”
Family Always Comes First
Usually, whenever a married couple decides to get a divorce, it’s because of a strain in the relationship that causes an emotional divide between two people. This is particularly common in the world of Hollywood, where nasty breakups between celebrity couples are publicly documented.
That’s why it came to many people’s surprise when Bruce’s ex-wife Demi Moore took to Instagram to post a photo of herself together with Bruce and their kids. This is an exceptionally notable occurrence as Demi and Bruce have been divorced for nearly 20 years. But for the Willis family, this isn’t anything to get all riled up about at all.
Bruce and Demi’s son Scout, 30, guested on the Dopey podcast to talk about their family, and it seems like a lot of Bruce’s philosophies on family have rubbed off on him.
“It’s kind of divine time to just hang out with them. I’m very grateful to be with my family.”
Along Came Emma
After Demi and Bruce called it quits in the early 2000s, Bruce wasn’t sure he would ever find love again. And yet, in 2009, Bruce would wed his wife, Emma Heming. The two are still going strong today. In fact, it was Emma who spearheaded the public announcement of Bruce’s retirement from acting due to his aphasia diagnosis.
Bruce and Emma first met back in 2007, but they made their first public appearance in January 2008 when Emma accompanied Bruce to one of his film’s premieres at the Sundance Film Festival. When Bruce and Emma first met, she was immediately smitten by him.
“When we first met, I was surprised at how charming and how funny he was – and extremely handsome.”
To this day, Bruce and Emma are happily married and in love with one another. But here’s another rare kicker to the situation. Bruce’s ex-wife Demi and Emma are also very good friends. According to a source close to the couple, they have vacationed together numerous times in the past and have a very healthy relationship.
If this isn’t the definition of a modern family, then what is? Comment your thoughts on the Willis family. What do you think about their entire setup?

I think the way they coexist is something that should be admired and more people should strive to be more like this. The children would definitely benefit from families like this as well
