If you want to be successful in love, you should always make it a point to be mindful of a person’s love language. Each and every one of us has a certain love language that we respond to the most positively. And the better aware we are of a person’s love language, the more effectively we will be able to approach this person on a romantic level. Romantic relationships are really complex. It’s very rare for people to go into romantic relationships in a reckless manner and then actually succeed at it.
All human beings are inherently different. We are all unique in our own ways. But the reason that a lot of us are able to connect with other people is because we are able to tap into their love languages – and we communicate with them effectively. But what exactly are the rules that are involved in connecting with a person based on a certain love language? Well, here are a few things to keep in mind when trying to connect with a particular love language.
1. Words of Affirmation
One of the most effective things that you could do with a person whose love language is Words of Affirmation is to let them know that you seriously see a future with them. You have to be able to prove to them that you are in it for the long run. On top of that, don’t be afraid to feed them with compliments. Let them know on a verbal level just how attracted you are to them. Under any circumstances, never let them feel like you’re unsure of where you’re headed as a couple. Even if it’s a vague idea, you should be able to run with it.
Don’t let them feel like you have no plans at all. And really engage with them during deep conversations. Be as witty as possible. Don’t allow any dead air and let the words pour forth. Show that you’re really locked in and focused on being with them in that moment.
2. Acts of Service
Make it a point to consistently reach to them; asking for ways that you could be of service to them. Let them know that you are really committed to making their lives as easy as possible. Make them feel and know that they can always rely on you to be there for them whenever they need you to be. Give them that safety and security with your physical efforts. Be as thoughtful and as meaningful as can be with your gestures. Never just let them proceed to do all the heavy lifting in the relationship while you watch them silently.
You have to make it feel like a team effort. You have to be putting in the work as well. Always make it a point to deliver on whatever promises and commitments that you make to them. You must always be able to back up whatever you say with real actions.
3. Receiving Gifts
Be as generous and as selfless as possible. Make it a point to give them random gifts every so often to make them feel like you’re always thinking of them. Offer to run errands for them or to pick up their favorite food at restaurants that they love while they’re out. It doesn’t always have to be grand or expensive, it just has to be as meaningful as possible. Never lead them to believe that you’re going to give them something and then fail to actually deliver on it. Don’t get their hopes up and then disappoint them.
That’s just downright heartbreaking for them – and they would feel further disconnected from you if you do that. Don’t be so content to have them carry the financial burden of the relationship. You must always be the kind of partner who is willing to give just as much as you’re willing to take.
4. Quality Time
Don’t let any earthly limitations keep you from spending quality time on them. If you’re far away from one another, then you can always text or call them. You can even video-chat if you can. If you’re a little busy with work this week, then make sure that you make up for it by spending as much time that you can with them on the weekend. And whatever time you spend with them, always make sure that they feel that you are giving them your absolute undivided attention. Never make them feel like you’re ignoring them.
If you’re too busy to accommodate them for the moment, then let them know and understand why you need to devote your attention to something else for the moment. And always make it a point to reassure them that they are still your priority. And always make sure that you’re there for them during the most important and significant moments.
