This is the only way to move on from toxic people

One day, happiness is going to return to your life, and you won’t even be thinking about the dark days anymore.

Don’t pressure yourself into being okay. Give yourself a chance to wallow in your sadness. Accept the sorrow and let it flow through you. Allow yourself to be human. Know that whatever darkness that chooses to envelop your soul is going to do so for a reason. It’s a necessary step that you are going to have to take before you start feeling better. The dark force is going to cover you like a blanket. It’s going to strangle you and suffocate you with its overwhelming strength. You don’t have to fight it. You only need to endure it. You can’t rush that process. You have to let yourself experience it. You have to just sit there and tell yourself that eventually the light is going to come back into your life. Nobody expects you to be okay right away. No one is forcing you to get over it. You will have to get over that hump on your own time, and it isn’t always going to be a hasty process.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. And so you can’t expect to build yourself up from scratch in just a matter of minutes. It’s going to take a long while and you have to accept that as early as now. The earlier you understand that you aren’t going to be okay for a long time, the easier it will be for you to bear the pain of loss; the sorrow of heartache; the burden of disappointment.

What you need to do for now is to surround yourself with the people who are still there in your life; the ones who have never left you or disappointed you. Always be around the people who fill your heart with love and life. Spend time with the people who are able to break down the walls of darkness that are enclosing your heart. Be with the people who will bring light into your life; the ones who will help pick up the pieces of your life; the ones who will help put you back together. You have to be around the people who will actually help you get over that hump. – Continue reading on the next page

You have to know that strength doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to face your demons alone. The strongest people also need others to help them through life’s treacherous waters. Just because you ask other people for help doesn’t make you a weak person. You have to realize that it takes a lot of bravery and courage to go through what you are having to endure at this moment. It takes a lot of humility for you to actually tell other people that you need their help. No one is looking down at you at all. They see your fighting spirit and they respect your will and fortitude. They see strength in your eyes and bravery in your heart. They see that you are living a difficult kind of life right now and that not many people can go through what you’re going through right now.

Learn to be more attuned with your emotions. Listen to what your heart is trying to tell you. It’s going to be difficult. It’s going to be challenging. Your feelings will be those that you aren’t really familiar with and they are sure to make you feel very uncomfortable. You have to endure. You have to confront them. You can’t just sweep them under the rug in the hopes that they will eventually go away. These feelings will want to paralyze you. They will want to compel you into complete submission. And sometimes, you have to let them win. You have to understand that there are some emotions that just demand to be felt and you don’t really have a choice in this matter. Face them now and just try to motivate yourself through the difficulties. You’ve made it this far and there’s no stopping you now. It’s going to be slow, but that’s alright. What’s important is that you never give up; you should never stop.

Don’t stop the tears from dropping. Let them flow through you like a raging river and a waterfall. Learn to detach yourself from your tears and stop being so invested in keeping them inside. Scream your lungs out. Shout until your voice gives in. Cry your heart out. Wear your heart on your sleeve. Don’t be ashamed of letting your vulnerability shine through. Know that there isn’t always going to be a reason for everything and that sometimes, bad things just happen. Learn to accept that fact and detach yourself from your ideals. We aren’t entitled to anything. We don’t deserve to always win in life. Nothing is ever promised to us and we should have known that from the start.

Just know that whatever you’re going through now is merely temporary. Know that eventually, your light will break through. You are going to wake up one day and you’re going to feel fine. You won’t feel the same as before, but you’ll feel a whole lot better.

One day, happiness is going to return to your life, and you won’t even be thinking about the dark days anymore.
