Timing. It’s so important with anything in life. There’s no getting around it.
When the timing isn’t right, it’s not going to happen especially in love and relationships. We can meet someone who can be the perfectly right person for us but it’ll never work out if that person just happens to be in a loving relationship with someone else. We can start to date someone we feel we have genuine chemistry with only to find out that their job is forcing them to relocate to somewhere far away and your relationship would never survive the distance. You can feel like you’re really hitting it off with someone and you’re ready to take things to the next level but everything starts to crumble because your partner doesn’t feel like the time is right just yet. These are just a few of the many ways in which timing can mess up a right love and unfortunately for some, there’s just no escaping it.
And the sting really starts to hit you when you start thinking about all of the what if scenarios. You start to daydream about all of the hypotheticals and the could have been situations that you know you’re missing out on because the time just isn’t right. You grow to despise just how significant a role that timing can play into our lives and our relationships. You start wishing and wondering about the if only narratives in your mind. If only the time was right. If only timing wasn’t an issue. If only timing didn’t play a third-party role in this romance everything could have worked out for you in the long run.
Yes, okay. Timing can be a huge pain in the butt. But what you really have to realize is that it’s only a pain in the butt if you allow it to be. You are still very much in control of the situation. You’re not necessarily falling in love with the right people at the wrong time. Shift your perspective. You’re just falling in love with the wrong people altogether.
You have to learn to wrap your head around the idea that you never really meet the right people at the wrong time. Because when you really do fall in love with the right person, then that person transcends whatever challenges time will present to you. The right person will always trump inconvenient timing and that’s just a fact. When you fall in love with the right person, this individual is going to lead you to want to abandon all crazy pre-conceived plans that you might have had. The right person will force you to want to make adjustments for the sake of love. The right person will compel you into being more adaptable and more versatile. The right person is never going to leave a space of doubt in your own mind. When you fall in love with the right person, they will make you feel absolutely sure about what you want from them and you will do whatever you can to make sure that things work out for the both of you. When you fall in love with the person, you don’t really care much about the unfortunate timing of the present, because you know that it’s all about being able to ensure a future for you and the person you love. When you fall in love with the right person, all of the issues that might have crippled you in the past will become irrelevant. They will cease to exist and you will discover a new strength inside of you that you never knew was there before. When you fall in love with the right person, you will have no problems abandoning all your current hopes and dreams for the prospect of sharing an even more beautiful and more fulfilling life with this wonderful human being. When you fall in love with the right person, you won’t care that the conditions aren’t perfect at the moment because you will be too focused thinking about how great everything could be in the future.
When you fall in love with the right person, time doesn’t necessarily cease to exist; it just becomes less significant. You won’t have to find yourself in a position of having to make time for this person. Instead, you will change your perspective and you will have to think about making time for other things because the right person will be there no matter what.
We have to stop blaming time for our reluctance to be with a person. It’s not time’s fault. It’s our own fault. Time has little to do with it when it’s all said and done. At the end of the day, when you fall in love with the person who is genuinely right for you, time won’t matter.
