Steven Crane & Jade are the parents of this genuinely miraculous story. Their twins, Harry & Harley, were born at 22 weeks, five days, and had very little chance of surviving – but they did; this is their story.

Steven & Jade hail from the UK and have been together for 14 years. Throughout their marriage, they’ve worked very hard to become parents.

For the first three years, they tried natural pregnancy. But it sadly didn’t work as they’d hoped as Jade suffered from an ectopic pregnancy. The couple didn’t let this bring their hopes down for becoming parents – so they decided to try IVF – In vitro fertilization.

The couple spent around £50,000 on fertility treatments. But their attempts at IVF didn’t succeed at first, ending in miscarriages – but the couple stayed strong and didn’t let these traumatic events bring them down.

A Miracle Happens in the Form of Twins

Jade, 39-years-old, went to the hospital when she was about 22 weeks pregnant – knowing that her pregnancy would be successful this time. But the doctors told her, again, that she’d suffered a miscarriage. She disagreed.

She told the doctors that she could feel the babies and that they were alive. Nurses even told them that the babies would not be able to survive, but the parents didn’t give up.

Baby Harry & Harley were initially transferred to the bereavement room because the staff thought one of the twins didn’t make it. The doctors said that the twins were the size of “Mars bars.” The staff also told Jade & Steven that they didn’t hear the twins cry, but the parents disagreed. Jade said she’d heard their “tiny cries” that sounded like little kittens.

Babies born in 22 weeks usually aren’t strong enough to make it, but these twins clung to life and kept fighting. They went through a lot of treatments – multiple operations & blood transfusions. The twins also suffered from brain and lung bleeds – but they still clung to life.

According to BBC, Jade Crane said:

“Can’t wait to get them home where they belong and start our life as a family,”

“We’ve waited 140 days for this. It’s really emotional. Sad to leave the team but happy to be going home.”

Jade & Steven stayed with their incredible twins’ side and didn’t let them give up – faith can do beautiful things. Baby Harry spent five months in the NICU and was finally taken home, while Baby Harley came home after 140 days.

The doctors told them the twins will still go through a lot of developmental issues and will need oxygen supplies which the parents will take care of at home.

Steven Crane, elated and happy, told BBC:

“It’s been such a long time and although it’s been a really, really treacherous journey, 140 days ago we didn’t think we’d be here,”
