Celibate (noun) – an individual who abstains from any marriage or intimacy.
When a girl says she’s celibate, it means she’s not interested in being physically intimate with you. This is usually due to a past traumatic experience that leads to her guarding herself so much. When a woman says she’s celibate, it’s not to be taken lightly, it means she’s been through her version of hell.
She has been through a lot, and she needs someone who understands. She doesn’t want to answer any questions right now; she wants some selfless affection and care. She wants to be pampered; she wants to be loved. And when the time comes for her to bring her walls down, she will finally talk about the reason for her celibacy. But until that day comes, you need to be a patient and supportive partner. Don’t suffocate someone who’s already suffocated enough.
What to do when a girl says she’s celibate?
Help her face those demons. Be her pillar of strength and wisdom. Don’t be upset with her because of this, that’s the worst thing you could do. Be open and vocal. Life is complicated, and a lot of us go through things the rest of us can’t even imagine, so it’s always better to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially when you’re in a relationship with them.
When a girl says she’s celibate, it means she doesn’t want to be involved heavily with anyone right now. She wants her space and time. She may have gotten out of a very traumatic relationship; that’s why it’s always best not to pry too much in the beginning. When you develop a comfortable level of trust, she’ll let you see her demons. Until then, be a supportive partner.
