Earlier this month, Shakira and her partner Gerard Pique announced their separation.
The 45-year-old Colombian singer confirmed the news that she had parted ways with the 35-year-old Barcelona footballer. The two had been together for eleven years and have two children.
The announcement came on June 4, 2022, when the Latina singer’s publicist made a statement on her behalf.
“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
Although the footballer has yet to address the news, it was published in both English and Spanish newspapers.
The announcement was made while rumors were circulating about Pique that he was cheating on the Queen of Latin music.
According to Daily Mail, a Spanish outlet reported that the couple had been living separately for a long time. And it was Shakira who kicked Pique out of her house.
Spanish journalist Emilio Pérez reported that,
“Shakira has made the decision to separate. That is so. It has happened. That is why there is distance. The couple has two sons, Milan and Sasha; however, despite having over a decade-long relationship, they never tied the knot.
The Mirror reported that the footballer once said he wouldn’t like to take things forward from where they already were.
Gerard said, “I like it how it is.”
During his interview with Gary Neville in The Overlap, Pique said that he had no intentions of marrying Shakira because of her ‘mentality.’
“No, I’m not married. It’s her mentality. I like how we are right now. We have two kids, nine and seven, right now. We work ‘good’ as a couple.”

Initially, a few reports claimed that the footballer was in love with Pablo Martin Páez Gavira, popularly known as Gavi’s mother. Gavi plays for the same club as Gerard. However, the Mirror confirmed that it was just a rumor.
Some other sources report that his alleged new love is a 22-year-old model who’s also friends with Pique’s best pal Riqui Puig.
According to Laura Rogie, a Telecinco program correspondent, the blonde model has apparently made a statement in which she denied all the rumors.
“She is overwhelmed with all this; she did not think the information could come to light. She has been involved in this story without wanting to and wants to make her truth clear. She wants to remain anonymous but has permitted us to transcribe our conversation with her.” Rogie said.
She further said that the event model claims that she doesn’t even know Gerard Pique.
“I would like to clarify that I do not know Gerard Pique at all. They have linked me to him without meaning because of the supposed girl’s description and awarded me the role-taking advantage of the fact that I do not have social media because I am doing my final exams.”
