A young influencer was left horrified after an unsuccessful cosmetic treatment she won for free, and made her regret the decision immediately after the treatment.
Jessica Burko is a digital creator from Los Angeles who has had several beauty enhancement procedures done on her and is quite vocal about them. However, this one free lip filler treatment left the TikToker in absolute agony when her lips swelled to almost double in size after the procedure.
“I honestly don’t know what went wrong, I had my lips done multiple times,” Jessica said in a video. “This doctor was doing a giveaway. He did everything he was supposed to do. Immediately after he injected me, I looked in the mirror and realized how swollen I was.”
“I thought maybe it was because I hadn’t got my lips done in over a year. But by the time I got to my car, I realised it was not normal. I went back to show him. He prescribed me a steroid, and it just got worse,” she added.
The 27-year-old LA native explained that she had gotten lip filler treatments at least six times, and none of her previous experiences were terrible as this recent one.
She added that she got the last lip filler injected almost a year ago, and when she won the giveaway treatment earlier this year, she thought to give it a go.
The next day after her treatment, Jessica decided to return to the clinic to get her lip filler dissolved. Luckily, the issue was taken care of by the medical professional, and her lips went back to their normal size.
“It was a free giveaway that I won, it was for Halloween. He certainly had me looking very scary,” she said in a follow-up video.
According to the TikToker’s regular lip filler specialist, the doctor who performed the treatment on her ‘hit an artery’ – and Jessica agreed with the assumption as she said the lip filler didn’t know where to go.
“If your lips look how mine did, you should be concerned. Get them instantly dissolved and go to someone else.”
After her horrible experience, Jessica said she would never do free giveaways again, and she advised the same to her followers.
Jessica’s TikTok clip received thousands of likes and comments – in the comment section, many people disagreed with her specialist and said her doctor did not hit an artery.
“If the doctor hit an artery, you would have a vascular occlusion,” one wrote.
“He did not hit an artery, this was a reaction,” a second said.
Meanwhile many others called out the cosmetic surgeon who performed the procedure on her and said she should have sued them.
“I still don’t understand what plastic surgeon would actually do this to someone. They should have their license revoked.”
