A woman revealed that she accidentally married her father-in-law in a terrible wedding mix-up at her wedding rehearsals. The confusion left everyone in shock, and it took her years to reconcile the mix-up and find true happiness. After all this time, she finally embraced her journey and realized that a woman marries love after 43 years. Surrounded by family and friends, she celebrated a love that blossomed against all odds.
The shocking revelation was made during last week’s show of Kate Richie on Nova FM with Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli.
During the show, a caller named Kim revealed her story, which explained how her husband’s father mistakenly signed her wedding papers.
“So I got married, and we needed two witnesses, which was my mother and my father-in-law,” she said. “And then at our rehearsal, the mother-in-law insisted that her husband come up [as a witness too].”

When her mother, mother-in-law, and father-in-law signed the certificate, Kim realized something had gone wrong. She felt a mix of confusion and concern wash over her as she thought about how her own experiences shaped her expectations, especially in moments like a woman’s reaction to diaper changing. It dawned on her that the pressure to perform perfectly in every situation was overwhelming. Perhaps it was time to re-evaluate what she truly desired in her family dynamics and support system.
“So we find the certificate and then when we looked at it and I’m actually now married to my husband and my father-in-law. They signed on the same line,” she told the radio show hosts.
“So legally, on a piece of paper, you are married to your father-in-law?” asked a very shocked Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald.
“Well on the certificate. Thank God I’m hoping they didn’t sign the legal papers; that would be horrible,” replied Kim.

While the other two hosts expressed shock and concern over the terrible mistake, Michael Wipli said it was hilarious to even think about the situation.
“That is amazing. [He] Just saw the signature and went “I’ll throw my name on that.”‘
Replying to his concern, Kim said that she was legally not married to her father-in-law as it was a mistake, and they got it fixed later on.
Meanwhile, Kate asked Kim if the certificate could be changed, “Just read it. Why didn’t someone put a little cross there?”
