Relationships can be complicated, with people often having expectations and setting boundaries when they get into one. But recently, a woman’s list of ‘rules’ for her boyfriend grabbed attention online and went viral.
On TikTok, @taylordonoghuee boasts over 342k followers, and her recent video discussing her boyfriend’s forbidden behaviors has garnered over 822k views. In the clip, she outlines five things her boyfriend is strictly prohibited from doing, captioning it: “Hot take but just my opinion.”
According to her, the first rule for her boyfriend is that he can’t have a girl best friend. She finds it ‘super obvious’, stating: “Because I don’t believe in them. I think those get messy.” Taylor specifies that while having acquaintances and friends is fine, having a girl best friend is completely out of bounds.
Moving on, she emphasized the importance of both her and her partner having their locations shared for each other, primarily for ‘safety’. The 23-year-old explained: “Am I stalking every hour? No, but I feel like it’s just one of those things that when you care about someone, you’ll tell them their whereabouts.”
The content creator also considers it a red flag if your partner is hesitant to share their location with you.
Thirdly, she mentions that her boyfriend is prohibited from going to the strip club, despite the fact that some couples ‘go together’, as per the content creator. She asserts: “You can go to bars. You can have a guys’ day, but strip clubs? Absolutely not.”
Taylor further expressed her stance that she wouldn’t allow her boyfriend to cover all the bills, deeming it ‘wrong’ for men to foot the entire expense. She specifies that she’s referring to dating rather than marriage, elaborating: “Especially early on, the guy should take on the majority of the bills, but I’d be lying if I said, like, I didn’t pay for a dime.”
Lastly, she asserts that her partner cannot like bikini pictures of other girls on Instagram, considering it ‘a huge red flag for obvious reasons’. She mentions that there’s increased awareness around this issue, but concludes: “It always makes me sad when I see someone that’s married with kids or just in a relationship and they’re liking girls’ photos, especially provocative ones.”
