According to pals, Nicole Scherzinger and Thom Evans are engaged and planning to go down the aisle together. The 44-year-old Pussycat Dolls singer and the 37-year-old athlete have been dating since 2020. But couple appears to be planning to spend their futures together after Thom allegedly went down on one knee to propose to Nicole. The rugby player is rumored to have proposed on vacation in Europe with Your Love singer Nicole recently.
“They’re getting married,” a friend close to the pair told the Daily Mail.
The couple, who are presently relaxing in Santorini after Nicole’s birthday celebrations in Mykonos, have discovered the one they intend to spend the rest of their lives with.
“The couple has recently returned from a trip in Mykonos, Greece, where Evans is reported to have proposed,” the magazine adds.
Nicole and Thom met owing to the 2019 season of The X Factor: Celebrities, which aired on ITV. Nicole appeared on the show as a judge with Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, while Thom was a member of a makeshift boyband named Try Star, featuring other rugby players Levi Davis and Ben Foden. While the rest of the group failed to wow viewers, Thom captured Nicole’s attention, and viewers were shocked to see the couple flirting passionately on the show.
However, it wasn’t until January of the following year that the couple began dating – and they’ve been enthralling admirers with glimpses of their wealthy life together that they share on social media. Thom has already spoken about the relationship, making it appear like they had a perfect romance.
“She’s so easy and delightful to be around,” he previously stated. “I’ve struck gold.”
“People often say, ‘when you know, you know,’ and I can honestly say I’d never really had that moment,” he said.
“But it was just beautiful during the first few days with Nicole, and it has been wonderful ever since.”
He elaborated. “She’s gorgeous in every way. I assumed she was out of my league!”
Thom admitted that flirting with the Don’t Cha hitmaker wasn’t on his mind when they entered her room since he didn’t think he stood a chance but that they just had an ‘instant attraction.’
‘It wasn’t even in my head to try it on with Nicole since it would have been unprofessional, and she’s so nice and stunning in every way,’ he stated.
The former Scottish international rugby union player went on to claim that his grandmother motivated him to ‘pluck up the nerve’ and approach Nicole, recalling her motto:
‘If you don’t ask, you don’t receive.’
Thom recalled that he rejected the idea of sliding into the popstar’s DMs because it wasn’t the ‘done thing’ and would be ‘awkward,‘ and instead believed it was appropriate to have an old-fashioned face-to-face talk.
The British rugby player had also been in a relationship with model and actress Kelly Brook, with whom he announced in 2011 that they were expecting a child. Tragically, their daughter died just weeks after their pregnancy was announced, and the couple divorced two years later. However, Nicole had a high-profile, on-again, off-again romance with British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, which ended in February 2015.
Nicole and Thom have previously stated that they are interested in creating a family together shortly.
‘Thom informed mates he’s been using pills to promote fertility,’ a buddy told The Sun.
‘Nicole and Thom are wildly in love, and they’ve had serious talks about everything from marriage to babies,’ says the author.
Nicole revealed their baby intentions in 2020, saying she was absolutely thinking about the future and ‘certainly wants kids.’
“He’s my boyfriend… the man of my dreams. I certainly want children when the time is perfect. It all comes down to time,” she told The Mirror.‘It’s difficult now since I’m meant to be traveling next year, so it’s just a matter of scheduling. I’ve always wanted to start a family.’
‘It’s simply been a blessing to be able to have a regular, healthy relationship and take time for myself,’ Nicole said of her boyfriend.
“He’s my business partner and dearest buddy.”
