Alicia Silverstone is a famous American actress who made her film debut in the early 1990s with the thriller The Crush.
Her notable projects include Clueless, Senior Year, The Requin, American Woman, Blast from the Past, and Excess Baggage.
The actress won a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2003 for her performance in the TV series called Miss Match.
Recently, the Clueless actress appeared on The Ellen Fisher Podcast and talked about her healthy lifestyle. The 45-year-old movie star said she still co-sleeps with her son, Bear, who is eleven years old. Silverstone shares her only son with her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki.
“Bear and I still sleep together,” she said.
“If you were in any kind of wild setting where there are animals … if you put your baby over there. Silverstone said while pointing away from herself, “Your baby is going to get eaten. It’s not ideal for the baby to be over there.”
She further said that she doesn’t care if people find her parenting ways odd or not, according to what most people do. She does what she thinks is suitable for her child.
“I’m a natural mama, and I’m a loving mama. I believe in love, I believe in nature and our society is scared of nature and love.”
Alicia also explained why she didn’t have more than one child and said she wanted to devote herself to Bear’s well-being and good upbringing entirely.
“I wanted to have more [kids], but then my relationship got messed up, and it wasn’t a great time to bring one in. I didn’t want to have one right away because I was so in love with my Bear.”
“I wanted to squeeze every little moment out of him, so it wasn’t until he was like 3 that I was ready to make another baby and then I didn’t have a partner, so that’s why I don’t have four babies.”
The Crush actress married Jarecki in Lake Tahoe, California, in 2005 after dating him for eight years. The couple became parents to Bear in May 2011.
After almost thirteen years of marriage, Alicia decided to part ways with Christopher. The couple officially called it quit in November 2018.
“We’re so good at co-parenting with each other. We both see Bear, unless I’m away shooting something where he can’t be there, but he usually comes with me anyway. … [We] literally communicate every day.” Silverstone told US Magazine in an interview in 2018.
When the host asked her that why did she choose why she chose the “attachment parenting” style, The Baby-Sitters Club star said,
“Every choice I make is either based on instinct or deep research. Contrary to popular belief, this parenting style actually provides enough safety and security at the earlier stages, so children are not dependent when they are older, and this information resonated most with me.”
“I just think it’s delicious. I think being a mom is the most precious, most unbelievable experience in this world, and it’s not for everyone, and anyone who doesn’t want to do it shouldn’t do it, but for me, it’s so divine, and I wanted to savor every moment of his life.”
