Hailee Steinfeld Reveals Daughter’s Milestones in New Interview

Hailee Steinfeld went on the Nov. 5 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark and talked about the thing new parents talk about most: how fast it is all going. According to E! Online, the 29-year-old actress told hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that the daughter she shares with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is already crawling.

Steinfeld and Allen welcomed their first baby earlier this year. They married in May 2025.

Hailee Steinfeld Shares Insights on Motherhood in Recent Interview

Time came up first. Steinfeld told the hosts that her daughter somehow feels like a newborn, a baby, and a little kid all at once. She called the way time works crazy.

Every new parent describes that same warped clock. Nights stretch forever and months vanish. Hearing it from a Pitch Perfect star on morning television does not make it less true. It makes it sound almost universal.

Steinfeld also admitted she had fallen for the oldest parenting cliché there is. She said parents have always claimed that moms and dads get convinced their kid is a genius for hitting milestones right on schedule. She knew the line. Then Harper started crawling, and Steinfeld joked, “She’s got to be a genius!”

She Celebrates Her Daughter’s Crawling Milestone

Her daughter is totally on the move, Steinfeld said, crawling around the house. Her punchline was the best line of the segment: “But she’s crawling already. She’s got to be a genius!”

Consuelos asked whether the baby was pulling herself up yet. Steinfeld said yes, right away. Ripa chimed in that girls are really fast, and Steinfeld kept singing her daughter’s praises.

E! Online made the obvious joke. She is the daughter of an NFL quarterback, after all.

Josh Allen Discusses Balancing NFL Season with Family Life

Allen had already flagged the change months earlier. Speaking to E! News in July, the 30-year-old said this season would definitely be different. He added that he did not want to miss anything with his daughter.

NFL schedules are brutal. Road games, film sessions, travel days, a calendar that runs from summer camp into winter. A starting quarterback saying out loud that he wants to be there for the small stuff is a public commitment, and a specific one. E! Online reported that the couple switched up their game plan for the season, though neither has detailed what that looks like day to day.

Allen also called Steinfeld a supportive partner in that July interview. Short phrase. It says plenty about how he sees the division of labor at home during his busiest months.

The Couple’s Approach to Self-Care as New Parents

Hailee Steinfeld did not pretend motherhood left her untouched. She told E! Online that this season of life taught her to slow down and soak in small pockets of joy. Time for herself looks different now, she said, but she finds it.

Steinfeld’s last four words carry the weight. She never claimed she has time. She said she finds it. She described time for herself as something she goes looking for and claims, with a 6-month-old who is crawling, pulling herself up and no longer staying where she is put.

Put her comments next to Allen’s and a picture forms. He is trying to protect time with their daughter during football season. She is trying to protect a sliver of time for herself. Two people guarding different things, both in the same small window, both saying it publicly. Couples who manage a newborn well usually have exactly that conversation, about whose time gets protected and when, long before anyone is exhausted enough to fight about it.

Neither Hailee Steinfeld nor Allen has said how the rest of the season will go. Harper is already crawling and showing impressive strength.
