“I’m innocent,” said enraged Amber Heard when Petition to Remove Her From Aquaman 2 Nears 5 Million Signatures

The blockbuster defamation trial between Aquaman actress Amber Heard and Pirates of the Caribbean actor Johnny Depp has finally been concluded with the jury’s ruling in favor of Johnny Depp.

Depp sued his ex-wife for fifty million dollars for wrongly accusing him of being an abuser.

In response, Heard countersued him for a hundred million dollars by accusing him of setting up a “dirty campaign” against her and calling her claims, ”a blatant lie.”

On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, the seven-member jury unanimously announced its verdict, stating that the actress had defamed her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, by wrongfully accusing him.

Ever since the court’s verdict, Amber has been in hot water; millions of people criticized her on social media and celebrated Johnny’s victory against her; not only this but pro-Johnny Depp supporters started different petitions on change.org to ban the actress from Hollywood, once and for all.

An ongoing petition on social media said that Amber Heard should be removed from Aquaman 2. It was first posted in November 2020 when Johnny Depp was removed from the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Fans asked DC Warner Bros to remove Heard from ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ in which the actress is playing the role of Queen Mera against co-star Jason Momoa.

The sequel is set to be released in 2023.

Initially, the petition received 1.5 million signatures. Then it was revitalized during Depp and Heard’s court trial, which started in April 2022. With the official verdict, the petition has now reached almost 5 million signatures.

According to Johnny Depp fans, the petition had already reached its initial target, but that’s not enough. So, they decided to achieve a new target of six million signatures on this petition to make it one of the top-signed online petitions on Change.org.

During one of her court proceedings, the actress cried and told the jury that she was the one who suffered problems at the hands of Johnny Depp, and instead of siding with her, people were supporting him.

“Accusations, accusations, and then he would explode; it started with throwing things, destroying the property, and screaming at me. I had to defend myself. I had to tell him, so he didn’t think these things were true, and nothing I could do to calm him down.”

She cried while speaking in court and told the jury that she was innocent and that all of Depp’s allegations were a lie. She also shared that her role in the movie was drastically reduced due to this defamation case, and she is very upset about it.

The embattled actress further said that Depp’s legal team portrayed her as a vile woman, full of drama and lies. She said nobody believes her, and that’s really painful for her.

“I fought really hard to stay in the movie. They didn’t want to include me in the film,” she said in court.
