The CEO of Amazon is engaged to his girlfriend of five years, Lauren Sánchez.
The couple attended the Cannes Film Festival in France, where they are staying on Bezos’ $500 million yacht. According to Page Six, “The pair are in the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival, where they have been hitting the star-studded party circuit while staying on his $500 million yacht with a mermaid resembling Sanchez adorning the prow.”
The pair, who has been together since 2018, was spotted kissing and canoodling on the billionaire’s superyacht as the Emmy Award-winning journalist showed off a diamond on her finger.
According to PEOPLE, “Bezos, 59, wore a simple black shirt and pants while Sánchez, 53, opted for a white tank top with a beige skirt and was seen rocking a diamond sparkler on that finger. (Experts estimate that it could be between 25 and 30 carats!).”
Jeff and Lauren traveled to Europe in the billionaire’s private jet, and lately, they have been spending a lot of time together on his $500 million yacht, which he has made according to his new fiancée’s liking.
The duo started dating sometime in 2018, and despite their attempts to keep their romance private, the news broke in 2019 and practically ended both their marriages.
Before he started dating Lauren, Bezos was married to American novelist and philanthropist Makenzie Scott whom he married in 1993 – the former couple stayed together for almost 25 years and shares four children, three sons, and one daughter.
“We want to make people aware of a development in our lives. As our family and close friends know, after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends,” a joint statement was released on behalf of Scott and Bezos in January 2019.
“We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other. If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again.”
“We’ve had such a great life together as a married couple, and we also see wonderful futures ahead as parents, friends, partners in ventures and projects, and as individuals pursuing ventures and adventures. Though the labels might be different, we remain a family, and we remain cherished friends.”
A few hours after their divorce announcement, several outlets reported that the former astronaut, computer engineer, and entrepreneur had been dating his friend, Patrick Whitesell’s then-wife, Lauren Sánchez.
Their divorce was eventually finalized in April 2019, a day after Lauren and Patrick filed for their divorce.
Earlier this year, Lauren sat down in an interview with The Wall Street Journal and opened up about her relationship with the business magnate. This was her first solo interview since they went public with their relationship in January 2019 after National Enquirer exposed their affair.
“Jeff makes me laugh all the time,” she said adding that he can be very ‘goofy’ at times.
“We love to be together and we love to work together,” she added. “We fly together. We work out together. We’re together all the time.”
