Jeremy Renner Was Helping his Nephew When He Suffered the Snowplow Accident

New details have been released in the Jeremy Renner Case….

It has been reported that the actor was helping his nephew when he was crushed by an extremely large snowplow weighing a little more than seven tons.

The 51-year-old Oscar nominee suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries while plowing snow near his home in Lake Tahoe on January 1.

According to a report obtained by CNN, Renner was trying to move his nephew’s truck from the driveway at the time of the lethal accident. He did not engage the parking brake that would have stopped the snowcat vehicle from sliding toward him.

“The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding, causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake,” the report read.

“Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed, based on our mechanical inspection, that the parking brake would keep the Pistenbully from moving forward. When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over.”

The report also mentioned that there were some mechanical issues with the snowcat vehicle, and its brake indicator light was not on, which could have alerted Jeremy.

“The nephew was able to help Renner until help arrived,” the report stated. “Renner was airlifted to the hospital, where he stayed for more than two weeks, undergoing at least two surgeries and being treated in the intensive care unit.”

“Impairment was not believed to be a factor in the incident,” the report also concludes.

The actor was hospitalized in Nevada, where he was taken after being critically injured.

“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” Renner’s representative told Deadline on January 2.

According to Daily Mail, a 911 emergency call was made after Renner was run over by a 14330-pound heavy snow removal equipment, and it was reported that his right chest collapsed and his upper torso was badly crushed.

Jeremy, who proved himself to be a real-life Avenger, spoke about the incident for the first time on Wednesday, January 4, and posted a selfie from the hospital and thanked his well-wishers.

“Thank you all for your kind words. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all,” he wrote on Instagram.

The Wind River broke 30 bones in the accident and is currently on his long way to recovery. Last week, he was discharged from the hospital and his family is taking full care of him.

On Saturday, January 21, Renner shared a photo on his Instagram which showed him getting physical therapy from a professional.

“Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years …. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love,” he wrote.

“I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I …. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend , grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens.”

“Love and blessings to you all”
