Lisa Marie Presley’s fourth husband, Michael Lockwood, is mourning her death after the singer passed away after what has been reported as a full cardiac arrest.
The 61-year-old American guitarist said his “world has been turned on his ear.”
In a statement released to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, Lockwood said he was with his Twin daughters, Harper and Finley.
Lockwood and Presley welcomed their twins in 2008 before the couple dramatically parted ways in 2016.
“It is very sad it didn’t turn out that way. Michael’s world has been turned on its ear, he is with both of his daughters now,” Michael’s lawyer,” Joe Yanny said on his behalf.
According to Daily Mail, the former couple was still fighting for their finances after their bitter legal battle that started in 2016.
“He was seeking $40,000 a month in child support and insisted she had more money than she claimed in court documents.”
“Amid the divorce proceedings with Lockwood, she temporarily lost custody of her twin daughters, who went to live with her mother Priscilla.”
“In a 2017 deposition, a year after the acrimonious split, she admitted to abusing cocaine, opioids, painkillers, and alcohol.”
Lisa died after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, California, home, where she lived with her mother.
Earlier on Thursday, The 54-year-old singer and songwriter collapsed at her Calabasas home, and TMZ reported that she had suffered a ‘full cardiac arrest.’
A few sources told the outlet that paramedics arrived at her place after the Lights Out singer collapsed at her residence and performed CPR on her.
The medical team regained a pulse and immediately transferred her to the nearby hospital via ambulance.
“EMTs responded to a call reporting a possible cardiac arrest at Presley’s home in Calabasas, Calif., and upon arrival, paramedics performed CPR on the 54-year-old and administered epinephrine.”
“Her mother Priscilla was seen arriving at the hospital, to support her daughter, an hour after reports of the medical episode,” Daily Mail reported.
The Dirty Laundry singer attended the Golden Globe Award Ceremony on Tuesday along with her mother, Priscilla Presley, and witnessed Austin Butler winning an award for his portrayal of Lisa’s father and iconic singer, Elvis Presley, in ‘Elvis.’
“The Presley family, thank you, guys, for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me,” he told the Tennessee natives. “Lisa Marie and Priscilla, I love you forever,” Butler said in his acceptance speech.
The singer and her mama were seen breaking down in tears during the actor’s touching speech.
The singer has suffered various health issues in the past few years, and in one of her public appearances, she even admitted that she was ‘grateful’ for being alive.
The mom-of-four had a drug addiction problem in the past which she reportedly developed after the birth of her twin daughters, Harper and Finley, in 2008, according to The Mirror.
“Her addiction came despite losing her father after he developed a ‘dangerous dependence on prescription drugs’, and her ex-husband Michael Jackson after he too had a complication with drug use.”
“You may read this and wonder how, after losing people close to me, I also fell prey to opioids,” Presley wrote in her memoir referencing her father’s death, who passed away in 1977 when Lisa was only 9 years old.
Lisa Marie’s death was confirmed by her mother, Priscilla Presley.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” the 77-year-old actress told the Associated Press.
“She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known.
