These toxic people aren’t always easy to identify. They are very good at hiding their toxic personalities. There is much to be gained from familiarizing one’s self with the personality traits of toxic people.

This is why you have to make it a point to stay extra vigilant. You have to take it upon yourself to spot and weed out all of the toxic people in your life and those you care about. This way, you are making sure that you only surround yourself with uplifting and positive people. But how do you know if someone is toxic or not? Well, you can pay attention to some of the tips given by world-class psychologists.

Here are some of the traits of people with toxic personalities. If you notice these traits in others, then try your best to avoid them as much as possible. This way, you are keeping yourself protected from their ugly toxic energy:

1. They never own up for their faults.

Toxic people are the most prideful human beings you will ever meet. They think that they can do no wrong. So, they just quickly pass the blame onto others instead. They would never acknowledge their own faults or imperfections.

2. They have manipulative personalities.

Toxic people are so used to getting what they want. That’s not necessarily a bad thing in itself. What makes it bad is the fact that they’re so willing to trample on other people to get ahead. They are so ready to just take advantage of the gullibility or weaknesses of others if it means them gaining some kind of competitive advantage.

3. They find joy in other peoples’ suffering.

These are the types of people who find joy in the suffering of others. Toxic people aren’t just content with finding success and happiness in their own lives. That’s not enough for them. Toxic people get more joy out of seeing other people suffer. They get a lot of happiness from seeing the people around them fail and struggle.

4. They judge without understanding.

There is a big difference between understanding another person’s situation and judging another person’s situation. Empathetic people tend to be more understanding. Instead of criticizing others, they make an effort to figure out why they do what they do. On the other hand, toxic people are very judgmental. They are so quick to cast blame and criticism on others based solely on what they see on the surface.

5. They only care about themselves.

Toxic people are very selfish. They only ever really care about themselves. When you try to ask them for support, they won’t be incentivized to give it unless they can benefit from it somehow. They only invest in things when they know that they can benefit from it. Otherwise, they wouldn’t really care all that much.
