Bridget Jones star Renee Zellweger is reportedly engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Ant Anstead.
The Hollywood actress, 54, who has been dating the 44-year-old British presenter since 2021 has told her friends that she is planning to get married after a secret engagement, according to The Sun.
“Renee and Ant are keeping their plans incredibly private, they’re not planning a big public announcement,” a friend told the publication. “She has been telling her inner circle about organising their nuptials, everything will be very low-key.
The source added, “Her relationship with Ant is super strong and they’re madly in love, and they can’t wait to get hitched.”
The Jerry Maguire was previously married to American singer and songwriter, Kenneth Arnold Chesney – the couple stayed together for only four months and divorced the same year they got married i.e. 2005.
Following her short lived marriage with Kenny, Renee was briefly engaged to Jim Carrey from 1999 to 2000. She was also romantically linked to A Star is Born actor, Bradley Cooper after meeting him on the set of Case 39 in 2009.
The duo sparked engagement rumors during their relationship but they split after moving in together in 2011.
The Judy star’s most recent romantic relationship was with musician Doyle Bramhall II from 2012 to 2019. The couple first met at the University of Texas in the eighties.
On the other hand, Ant Anstead was previously married twice and three children with her former partners, Louise and Christina Hall.
Last week, Ant and Renee was spotted together at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
According to Daily Mail, “On Monday the lovebirds were seen in an image with his son Archie, 16, and daughter Amelie, 19. They were all dressed up in their best attire for a formal event at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed.”
“Renee had on a one-shoulder gold gown with her hair partially up. Ant wore a tuxedo. Amelie was in a strapless black dress with rhinestones. And Archie was dapper in a suit.”
Speaking about her inability to find true love in life and become successful romantically, Renne said in a previous interview The Sun,
“All the things that you would most like not to have in common with Bridget are the things that I find I relate to most closely. I’ve had moments when I feel like I’m sitting beside myself watching my Bridget alter ego just spiralling, circling the drain.”
