Simon Phillip Cowell is a British TV icon, entrepreneur, and record executive. He is the creator of the famous music competition franchises ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Got Talent’ which have been sold worldwide.
He has judged several talent competition series in his career like Pop Idol, The X Factor UK, Britain’s Got Talent, American Idol, The X Factor US, and America’s Got Talent.
Cowell is also the founder and owner of the British media entertainment company Syco.
Simon is the loving father to an 8-year-old boy, Eric, his only son that he shares with his socialite girlfriend, Lauren Silverman.
When Cowell and Silverman got into a relationship years ago, the news came as a surprise to all his fans and X-Factor viewers as nobody expected Cowell to get into a serious relationship.
The couple first met in 2006 in Barbados when Lauren was still married to Andrew Silverman. Simon used to hang out with them during vacations. A few years later, Lauren ended her relationship with Andrew and started dating Cowell.
In July 2013, it was announced that Lauren was expecting a child with the X-Factor star. In February 2014, on Valentine’s Day, the couple welcomed their son, Eric.
According to People, Fatherhood changed Cowell as a person.
In 2021, the 61-year-old executive producer appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show and spoke about how his life changed after Eric. He also shared that he lost his parents when he was just a child.
“After I lost my parents, I genuinely felt, Kelly, I would never feel that kind of love for anyone ever again. I thought that was it … until I saw the scan of him for the first time.”
“From that moment I saw the scan,” he continued. “I was like ‘That is it, I’m besotted.’ Now I just cannot imagine my life without him,” the proud dad gushed. “He’s the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him.”
The Pop Idol judge has a total net worth of $600 million, and he was listed as the 35th wealthiest celebrity in the world by Forbes in 2020.
Despite having a huge fortune, the reality show judge said that he won’t pass any of his assets to his son, Eric, and would all his wealth to a charity or some animal organization.
While talking to Esquire magazine in 2013, Simon said,
“I’m going to leave my money to somebody. A charity, probably – kids and dogs. I don’t believe in passing on from one generation to another.”
“Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know.”
He further added,
“A lot of people who retire, they hate their job so much, they just love the idea of not working any more.”
“That horrifies me. I’m going to be still working in my 80s or 90s.”

I would love to have some of his money, I’m a single working woman and I really hard to be rich.I’m working pay check after pay check..!
He should leave some to his wife and his son.then to charities of his choice. But what’s his is ALSO HERS. !!!!
Theyre not married ahe is still married to andrew silverman so she isnt actually entitled to anything from him.. his son should be though.
They aren’t married. She is really just his girlfriend so she isn’t entitled to anything.
I want to leave anything of value I have in this life to my GChildren.
His son has to learn full responsibility and educate himself with what he wants to learn. If Simon Cowell wants to leave his money to charity that is his decision, but he should leave a portion of his estate to his son. He has no other children.
I understand but please leave him something!!!!!!
i heard if you leave your child 0 dollars then they can contest the will to end up with something. If you will them even one dollar then they cant, so I hope it works out for his son.
incredible. some of us struggle so much, work very hard all our life and like me get to retirement age not knowing where bacon is coming from. of course continue work all his life, not if he cleans dishes for a living.,!
I think he should have like a trust fund for he’s son and after he’s wii if he abides by a contract of some kind and proves him self then a deposit off some kind for a home would sound a great idea but it’s somons choose at the end of the day I’m sure he will be looked after???
He should leave some to his son. It says it in the Bible that a parent should leave some inheritance to their children. But then I think you should give some definitely to charity. There’s so many organizations and people that are poor don’t even have enough food or clothing or shelter.
What a big heart you have Simon u meet you here in my home town Douglas Arizona you came to the mobile for children’s care for Chiricahua community health center with Dr Jonothon May God bless you always ❤️🙏
Pass some of the wealth to your son. If he learn from his father he can multiply his money and teach others money management and gift some to charity. They say charity starts at home. Leave me a crumb
I’m a single mother of six. My last born suffering from severe H.I.E ancephalomathy. My husband ran away after discovering that my little son had this problem. I have a small kiosk that where our survival depends. His medical care is expensive and sometimes he misses his medication due to lack of money and this leads to severe convulsions. Sometime the scenes are horrible for me as a mother to witness. So if Simon Cowell is willing to donate his money to charity let him start with my son’s medication cost and I’ll really appreciate.
Hmmmm I could agree to that they have to do it for themselves. But if you have children or grandchildren with disabilities that’s a game changer.
It kind of selfish not leaving anything for him. Charity is good but live something enough to secure Ur kids future . Whats the point apart shaping our kids to become a great person, we work hard n earn much not only for our pleasure but for our families.
Raise a go fund for my poor people
