The American horror/Sci-fi show Stranger Things came out in 2016 and instantly became one of the most-watched series on Netflix.
The show is produced by the Duffer Brothers, Matt and Ross Duffer, who also serve as showrunners.
The show is set in the early 1980s, and the story revolves around some serious supernatural events happening in a fictional town called Hawkins, Indiana.
It all started with the sudden vanishing of one of the show’s main characters, Will Byers, who was taken by a deadly creature known as the ‘Demogorgon’ into a parallel universe known as the Upside Down.
At the same time, when Will went missing, a psychokinetic girl escaped the Hawkins Lab, where the scientists used to conduct paranormal and supernatural experiments on her.
After escaping from the lab, she found Will’s friends group, which included Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair, and together they worked and found ways to free Will from the Demogorgon’s prison, which was THE UPSIDE DOWN.
Until now, four seasons have been released of the series and the most recent one broke all records in the history of Netflix.
As mentioned earlier, the first season premiered back in 2016, the second in 2017, 3rd in 2019, and finally the fourth season came out after a long gap of three years.
Now we understand that the long delay was solely due to the pandemic that took over the entire world in March 2020 and put everything on hold.
But if you watch the latest season, you can’t help noticing that the little kids have grown up to a degree where their character ages do not sync well with their real-life ages.
Let’s start with the series’ central character, Eleven, played by British actress Millie Bobby Brown. While Millie is actually 18 years old, her character is three years younger in the show. Similarly, Gaten Matarazzo is 19, but his character, Dustin Henderson, is 15 years old in season 4.
However, many people believe that the two actors didn’t look much older than 15 due to their physical fitness and baby faces.
Now coming toward Mike Wheeler, played by Finn Wolfhard, and Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, fans claim that the two boys looked much older than 9th graders.
Both Fynn and Noah have grown up to become tall, handsome boys. In fact, in one of his interviews with Today, Noah Schnapp stated that the show directors asked him to lower the pitch of his voice to sound younger.
“I remember in season two they told me you need to lower the pitch of your voice, you have to speak at a different level and stand shorter, I was like, ‘I can’t do that, I’m not like that anymore.'”
Moving forward to Lucas Sinclair and Max Mayfield, played by Caleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink, respectively. These two are even older than the rest of their clan. While both kids are 15 in the latest part, in reality, they are both 20 years old.
But hats off to Caleb and Sadie for acting so well and making the viewers love their outstanding acting in ST Volume 2.

Coming toward the actual adults of the show, the hot favorite Steve Harrington who’s only graduated high school in the latest season and is shown to be a 19-year-old, actor Joe Keery who played this iconic role, is actually 30 years old. Whoa, astonished? Well, we were, too, when we first learned about this!
“NO WAY STEVE HARRINGTON IS 30???? DOESN’T MATTER I’D WATCH HIM PLAY AND KILL THE DEMOBATS EVEN IF HE WAS 40 ON THE SHOW.” A fan exclaimed on Twitter.
“Damn man, Joe Keery is 30? Someone asks what he eats! He looks way younger.” Said another.
It seems like people aren’t bothered much in Stevie boy’s case.
Actress Natalia Dyer who played the beauty-with-brains Nancy Wheeler, is 27 years old in reality, while her character is only 18 in Season 4. But kudos to Natalia, who played Nancy so well, and with her recent madventure with Vecna, fans forgot everything but her absolute awesomeness with which she took the final shot and blew Henry up.
Charles Heaton, who plays Jonathan Byers, Will’s older brother in the show, is 28 in real life, but on the show, he is only 20. After watching the finale, most people who talked about his character said that Heaton looked way older than his character.
“Whoa man, the creators need to show a time jump cuz no way Jonathan is 20.” A user wrote on Twitter.
Maya Hawk, who plays Robin in the show, is 23 years old, while her character is 18. But fans believe that her age is justified as Maya looks so fit and young that some even refuse to believe that she is at least five years older than Robin.
Priah Ferguson is 15 years old, while her character Erica Sinclair is only 11. Although fans noticed that Ferguson looked much more fierce and taller than an 11-year-old kid, they applauded her phenomenal acting skills, with which she pulled her character off in season 4.
Lastly, the most adorable and fantastic entry in the latest season is Eddie Munson, played by the English actor Joseph Quinn, who is 29 years old in reality; however, his character is only 19. A young boy who failed high school multiple times and eventually became adamant about graduating.
Eddie’s character touched the hearts of millions as he was the most misunderstood character on the show so far when he was the exact opposite of what Hawkins people believed him to be. Quinn did justice to his role and acted so breathtakingly well that fans burst into tears when the Demobats took his life.

“I will never forgive Duffer Brothers for doing this to Eddie Munson, he was the best thing that happened to Stranger things after Steve Harrington.” Another fan commented.
