A Unique Beauty

It shouldn’t be too difficult to see why Zendaya is so successful. Aside from her hard work and raw talent, she’s also an incredibly beautiful woman. And a lot of the appeal surrounding her beauty stems from her very unique features. This has caused many people to speculate about who her parents are and what kind of role they play in her life.

Of course, people tend to pay a lot of attention to how parents raise their kids. But this becomes even more prevalent whenever kids start growing up in the limelight. After all, Zendaya is a former Disney Channel star and has been considered a celebrity for a long time now.

And it’s also been well-documented that many children who grow up with the celebrity lifestyle eventually become resentful of their parents for pushing them down this path.

Fortunately, this is not the case with Zendaya and her parents. She has always been vocal about how her parents have been supportive of her dreams ever since the start. Zendaya has always been the first one to come to her parents’ defense whenever talks started rumbling around the mainstream rhetoric.

Zendaya’s Parents

Zendaya is the daughter of Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajami Coleman. She was born in Oakland and her name is derived from the Shona language, which roughly translates to “to give thanks.”

Both Kazembe and Claire worked as teachers. Claire practiced her teaching career in inner-city schools within Oakland, including the Shakespeare Academy. This was where Zendaya first got a taste for the world of acting. Zendaya used to accompany her mom to classes, which sparked her love for the performance arts.

Zendaya opened up about this experience in an interview with Teen Vogue.

“My mom would introduce them to the arts, guide them through the language of Shakespeare, and show them the wonders of nature outside city life – all things that they wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. Watching her was magical; it instilled within me a true appreciation of and devotion to the importance of education.”

Zendaya has always looked up to her parents and isn’t shy about bragging about her parents’ fantastic job at raising her.
