The Wire and John Wick Star Lance Reddick Dies Aged 60

Cedric Daniel of The Wire and Charon of John Wick has died, aged 60.

According to reports, the American actor passed away of natural causes.

According to TMZ, “He was found dead at his Studio City home in Los Angeles Friday morning.”

“Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time,” his agent, Mia Hansen, said in his statement.

The star’s death occurred before the release of his fourth John Wick film, in which he plays the role of concierge Charon.

John Wick 4 is set to be released in the theatres on March 24.

As reported by The Guardian, “The actor had been recently doing interviews for his role in John Wick: Chapter 4, released next week. Earlier this week, he chose not to attend the film’s New York premiere.”

The sad news comes only one day after Lance posted a happy photo of him all smiles with his three dogs at home in a promotional post for Hard Rock Hotels on National Puppy Day on Instagram.

“On screen and off, it’s no surprise I love spoiling my dogs,” he wrote in the caption.

Reddick was also due to attend the premiere of John Wick 4 along with his costar, Keanu Reeves, but he failed to turn up – the actor did not explain his absence from the premiere.

“Lance Reddick is the kind of actor that improved every single project just by being there. This loss is immeasurable. May he rest in peace,” one said on Twitter.

“unable to formulate how saddened i am by this news. rest in peace Lance Reddick, you will be remembered,” a second wrote.

“RIP Lance Reddick. One of my favourite actors and the only person to ever scare Eric Andre. Always gave the performance of his life in anything he was in from John Wick to The Wire to Fringe. He will be dearly missed,” a third said.
