Today’s story comes from Ask Relationship Rules – where our followers and fans anonymously send us their stories and ask our community for advice. This one comes from a woman who was with her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day when she saw a notification from Tinder on his phone – they’d both been off the app after they began dating.
The Story
Here is her story, in her own words:
“Hey Relationship Rules, please share my story anonymously. I’m a 28-year-old woman who’d been dating this guy (30) for about 7 months now. We met on Tinder and then met in real life.”
“Went on our first date, it was beautiful. Then we both officially began dating and deleted Tinder from our phones. We’ve had a pretty good relationship for 7 months.”
“But yesterday, we were together on Valentine’s Day and I was taking a photo with him on his phone when he received a notification from Tinder about a new match.”
“We had a long discussion over it, I was really upset because I thought we’d both got off the app. He swears that he’s off it and it’s some sort of error notification. Is this normal or am I being cheated on?”
“Thank you.”

Relationship Rule’s Advice
Dear anonymous, life is full of twists and turns. While we always talk about staying positive and listening to your gut, we also believe in giving everyone their fair share to explain the situation. If you love this man and want to be with him, give him some time to prove the things he has said with his actions. If he’s lying, it won’t take long before something like this happens again. But if your feelings for him aren’t as strong as to give you any sadness or trauma, we’d say it’s better to start fresh with someone who doesn’t make you doubt yourself and his feelings for you. We wish you all the best!

I deleted tinder and my account with tinder and it no longer sends me messages. All of you’ll who isn’t tech savvy will fall for the lies. Deleting your account and the app prevents notifications. You might receive ADVERTISEMENTS from them to you email that’s on file with them but not a notification. Deleting the app in front of you means nothing when they go add it back behind your back.
