He does whatever he can to make you happy. Ultimately, you always want to go for a man who puts your happiness first. That’s why you should still be thankful to have a guy in your life who tries to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. He’s a rarity these days, and he’s worth holding onto.

I’m not the author of this article, but I agree with you.
I think a relationship should feel like you’re best friends and be a team effort honestly. But there should also be a connection between the couple to where they just enjoy each other’s company regardless that planning dates isn’t even necessary.
My hubby and I don’t actually “plan” dates… instead, we’ll talk about hanging out, watching TV, playing video games or going out kinda randomly and/or last minute lol.
We also now have a soon to be 9 month old and will bring her along on “dates” if the grandparents aren’t available.
