You can still save it…
Love isn’t easy. Relationships are never easy. People are complicated and complex creatures. It’s virtually impossible to simplify an individual’s personality. It is so much more difficult to simplify the dynamics between two people. There are just too many factors at play that determine the strength of a relationship. Some couples have very tightly wound emotional bonds that are difficult to break. And there are also some couples whose emotional connections are barely hanging on by thread. However, the difficulties only vary by degree, and not by kind. The difficulties are going to be there for couples no matter how strong their emotional connections are.
If you happen to be unlucky enough to be in a relationship that falls under the category of those who are hanging by a thread, then you have some serious reflecting to do ahead of you. You need to be able to determine whether your relationship is still worth saving or if you should just cut your losses and move on. On the one hand, you don’t want to see yourself as a quitter who walked away from something just because things got difficult. But on the other hand, you don’t want to be stuck in a relationship that practically doesn’t have a chance in hell anymore.
So how do you know if you can still breathe some life into your dying relationship? How do you know if you are just practically driving an emotional corpse? Fortunately for you, there are some signs that you can take note of to determine if your relationship still has a shot at surviving. No matter how dim things may seem, your relationship could still be exhibiting some signs of life and you can’t afford to ignore them. Here are a few signs that you could still save your relationship even though it’s dying.
1. You still enjoy spending time with one another.
You still being around one another. You still love spending time together. There is a chemistry between the two of you and it’s palpable. It’s something that you can’t suppress and it’s something you know that is terribly real. So as long as you still enjoy the time that you spend with each other, there is always hope for your relationship.
2. All of the stress that you are experiencing in your relationship comes from external forces.
If all the causes of the stress on your relationship come from the outside, then that means that your relationship isn’t necessarily the problem. It means that a slight change of pace or setting might be enough to help fix things.
3. You can’t really see yourself dating anyone else.
The idea of being in a relationship with another person absolutely repulses you. You want no part of being in a relationship with anyone else because you only have eyes for the person that you’re with at the moment. No matter how difficult things are, you still only ever see yourself in a relationship with your current partner. You would rather be single than be in love with another person. For you, love and the person that can’t be disconnected from each other.
4. Conversation is not dead between the two of you.
There are very few relationship problems that can’t be fixed by open and honest communication. So as long as the both of you are willing to talk about your problems and any possible solutions, then there is always hope for your relationship. Your relationship is never going to die if the both of you haven’t given up on communicating with one another.
5. The thought of breaking up is difficult to bear.
You can’t possibly bear the thought of breaking up with your partner. You know that you would be absolutely devastated to be separated from your partner. You know that things are really tough and difficult in your relationship, but these don’t worry you. You know that you have the strength to pull through so as long as you stay together in your relationship. But the thought of you having to face life alone outside of a relationship with your partner absolutely terrifies you.
Laughter is important in any relationship. Laughter is a direct manifestation of comfort and happiness with one another. Even if things are incredibly challenging for the both of you at the moment, if you can still find a reason to smile in each other’s presence, then the relationship still has a chance at surviving. Laughter is the best medicine after all.
7. You still believe in the power of your relationship to pull through.
Sometimes, it all boils down to belief in your own selves. If both of you believe in your love, then you are always going to have a fighting chance. If you are still willing to persist in your relationship, then nothing can break you. Be strong enough to believe in each other and in your relationship, and you’re always going to find a way.
