1. They have an unusually strong sense of self-assuredness.
A lot of people can be so insecure these days – and a lot of that really has to do with how everyone is so connected on social media. Everyone is trying to judge their own personal lives based on the lives of other people. And that can bring about a lot of insecurities and vulnerabilities within one’s self. However, with old souls, it isn’t really much of an issue. Old souls tend to be pretty confident about who they are because they don’t feel the pressure to compare their own lives against anyone else’s. And sometimes, that self-assuredness can be misconstrued as arrogance – which can be very off-putting.
2. They are very prone to overthinking.
And old soul is not an impulsive soul. They are people who really like to think things through before they act on anything. They are people who really like to analyze every angle of a situation before they take action. And sometimes, that means they are slow to react. And not a lot of people are going to have the patience to actually wait for them to come to a decision on something.
3. They often focus on a sense of “greater purpose” which often gets in the way of their relationships.
An old soul is always going to be ambitious. They are the kinds of people who believe in the concept of dreaming big and working hard in the pursuit of those dreams. And because of this kind of attitude, a lot of old souls will choose to sacrifice their relationships for the sake of their dreams. Their ambitiousness in fulfilling their greater purpose could lead to them straying away from their love life.
4. They don’t really settle for anything less than a love that is amazing and mind-blowing.
Old souls have very traditional views on love – and that’s the kind of view on love that is always filled with magic and wonder. It’s a view on love that never falls short of amazing. So whenever they happen to date someone who doesn’t make the experience feel magical or mind-blowing, they get bored fairly easily. They don’t like to get stuck in relationships that don’t really do much for them with them. They just walk away from relationships that don’t give them constant butterflies in their tummies.

In this modern age, so many people have traits and values that just make them incompatible with old souls. And as we all know, two people must always be compatible with one another if they’re going to make a relationship work. No amount of effort can overcome incompatibility in a relationship.
6. They tend to be less open to exploring new ways to go out and meet people.
They are stuck in their old ways. An old soul is always going to be reluctant to try new things in order to meet people. As they say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. And an old soul is likely to wat to stay in their comfort zone a lot. They aren’t going to want to explore the unknown; they aren’t going to want o try things that they’ve never tried before. They are only going to want to do what they know. And that can deprive them of opportunities to really find love someday.

Old souls don’t like to take part in the modern games that come with modern dating. Tre are just so many people these days who treat dating like a game that they can win. They think that there are arbitrary rues to dating that they need to follow if they want to come out on top. However, a lot of times, peoples’ feelings only get hurt as a result of these games and they don’t want any part of it. They don’t want to play around when it comes to love – they take love and romance very seriously.
8. They carry substantial emotional baggage.
An old soul is going to have trouble with letting go of feelings – especially when these feelings are those of the dark kind. Pain, betrayal, anxiety, insecurity – these are all things that an old soul has trouble dealing with; and it could hurt their relationships.
9. They are incredibly afraid of getting hurt.
An old soul feels emotions at an incredibly intense level. They don’t always let their feelings get the best of them; but once something hits them hard, it really hits them hard. And that’s why they always avoid putting themselves in positions of vulnerability. They don’t want to give other people the power to hurt them because of how immensely they can feel pain. And a reluctance to be vulnerable to another person can always get in the way of love and romance.
