The Change.org petition to remove Heard from Aquaman 2 has reached over 4.1 million signatures during the ongoing trial. “Fan pressure” won’t play a role in the decision on whether to fire Heard, producer Peter Safran told Deadline in July 2021.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Heard Almost lost her role as a member of the DCEU’s ‘Justice League’ during her third day of testimony in the ongoing defamation trial between Depp and Heard.
“I don’t think we’re ever going to react to, honestly, pure fan pressure. You gotta do what’s best for the movie. We felt that if it’s James Wan, and Jason Momoa, it should be Amber Heard. That’s really what it was. One is not unaware of what is going on in the Twitter-verse, but that doesn’t mean you have to react to it or take it as gospel or accede to their wishes. You have to do what’s right for the film, and that’s really where we landed on it.” After her split with Johnny Depp, Amber Heard claims she lost job opportunities. Following Depp’s “smear campaign,” Mera’s role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom got smaller.
Amber Heard stated:
“I had to fight really hard to keep my career after I got my [restraining order against Depp]. I lost opportunities. I got dropped from jobs and campaigns. I fought to keep my job and the biggest movie opportunity I had to date [with] ‘Justice League’ with the option to [star in] ‘Aquaman.’ I had to fight really hard to stay in ‘Justice League’ because that was the time of the divorce.”
IGN reported that Heard’s contract with DC and Warner Bros. covers three films, including ‘Justice League,’ ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Aquaman 2.’ She also said her role in ‘Aquaman 2’ was cut.
Amber Heard stated:
“I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoiler aways, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch out.”
The hearing revealed that she ended up appearing in a “very pared-down version” of the original story planned for her character Mera in Aquaman 2. “I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoiler aways, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role,” Heard testified. “They just removed a bunch out.”
Warner Bros. recently announced that they will release ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ on March 17, 2023, instead of December 2022.
Amber Heard doesn’t look very happy with the way things turned out for her role in Aquaman 2. What do you think about the shortening of her role in the film? Tell us in the comments section below.

All of these lies are all going to come out of the wash, you can’t lie forever it catches up to you and backfires in your face. I believe in karma, and it will all catch up to Amber, I think it is now. She is making a complete fool out of herself, who does she think she is kidding, her words, and her actions speak for themselves. I wasn’t born today, I was born yesterday, I don’t believe anything Amber is saying, I would flatten her like a fly in court if I was Johnny’s attorney. I have been through similarities as Johnny with my ex before I divorced him, been there, done it as they say, even worse what Johnny has been through, this was a toxic relationship like what I went through. It is a lesson to learn, you don’t know a person until you live with them as well.
I believe their relationship was toxic both ways- no doubt… BUT all these recordings indicate to me that she planned all along to go after him HARD! She’s disgusting bc she instigated and led the arguments. Pushed for them… and then weaponized them. She’s a real sick individual!
She’s getting everything she deserves, she is trying to ruin a man who has had a blessed life , because her teenage crush didn’t live up to her expectations..
The only reason why DC is keeping her in Aquaman 2 is because of a signed contract that needs to be respected in order not to be sued. Whether she’s in the movie for 2 minutes or 10, she cannot argue she wasn’t in the movie.
