In an eight-second video, Courtney Ward captioned, “No one, absolutely no one,” as she reached over and put on the engagement ring while her then-boyfriend, Stephen, was still in the midst of proposing. “Me: takes the engagement ring and puts it on while he’s still talking.”
The clip featured a sound effect of a person repeating ‘no, no, no’ and laughing in the background. Defending her impulsive action, Courtney mentioned, “In my defense it was so beautiful I had to put it on right then and there!”
The video garnered over 1.9 million views, with many appreciating her excitement over the engagement ring. However, some critics accused her of being greedy or rude for not fully engaging in the moment her fiancé was creating.

Courtney addressed some of the criticism in the comments, explaining that her excitement overtook her awareness of the moment. She responded to the negative remarks, stating, “Some people are acting like I’m a horrible person for doing it… it was an immediate reaction.”
